★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My first time going there, was excited to see so many household things sold, at reasonable prices. But they didn't even announce closing time and they just locked the doors. The lights were still on and music still playing, and I was surprised that I couldn't get out! Even had to call the police to come help me. Seriously, how can you just lock the door without checking if there are customers, and not even switching off lights or music??

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A groote store...and a great location on the Bilderdijkstraat. It's on the corner of the Kinkerstraat and Bilderdijkstraat. It was the first (homegoods) store I ran to on my first day living in my apartment. I needed bath towels and rugs for my bathroom (among a few other things).
This is not the cheapest store, but not expensive. They have most every name brand. But they are a go-to place and sometimes have exactly what you want on sale.
The staff has been somewhat consistent here (common in The Netherlands) but a few have gone. I can't blame this on Blokker, but the pandemic of course.
They have vacuum cleaners, air fryers, candles, sheets, cleaning material and even pots and pans.
I bought a few sheets from them...difficult to find my standard size though. Inventory is limited but that's common for Amsterdam.
Of course I could walk down the street (about one kilometer away) to the next Blokker...but this one is the nicest location on the same block as my apartment.
