★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Staff were exceptionally helpful providing suggestions of local attractions and providing a safe place to store our bags as we arrived early. The hotel is very pretty and rooms and all facilities kept very clean. Only improvement that I could have suggested would be clearer instruction for breakfast and that there could have been more staff to help with the kitchen in the morning as the scrambled eggs did have egg shells in it. I would highly recommend this hotel and would look to book again next time I'm In leiden.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is like a gem. It's a small hotel nestled along one of Leiden's scenic canals and adjacent to one of the beautiful entryways to the old city streets.
The staff is excellent, homey and personable. The rooms, which have fans but no AC, are decently sized. My first floor room was great after day one, which was extra warm. I hear the second floor rooms can get very warm. To compensate for the lack of AC, the staff stocks hallway mini refrigerators with free popsicles.
Breakfast is a little pricey, around 14 euros, but it's a good European setup with breads, cheeses, parfaits, delicious juices and made to order eggs. There are plenty of eateries within a 5-10 minute walk.
The hotel provides a couple of free bikes you can use to your the town. Please know that the staff leaves at 11 p.m., so arrive before then or make other arrangements. And don't leave your key in the room. You'll need to to get back into the building after 11 p.m.
I loved this place and would most definitely return if I could.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Me, my partner (locals) and friends from the US booked rooms in Aug 2020 because we were supposed to get married. Due to Covid we had to cancel the wedding and our US friends could not come. Unfortunately our friends by error only cancelled 1 of the 2 rooms on time, so they did not get a refund. Since we are locals, we decided to use their paid for (non-cancelable) room. The lady at the desk called the owner, who refused because they had booked it for someone else. So basically they made money off the room twice, which I'm sure is illegal. When I explained this and told them to refund our friends, the lady at the desk became defensive, unfriendly and refused to talk to me further.
I'm sure without issues it would all have been lovely, but this situation is seriously unacceptable and I therefore would not recommend this hotel.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I booked this hotel for my family visiting me in Leiden, 2 rooms for 3 nights. They had a very nice stay and were super satisfied. The staff was very friendly and eager to help, e.g. with organising rental bikes. The rooms were beautiful and modern, and very tidy. The location is great - just opposite of a big parking garage and close walking distance to central station, yet well within city center and surrounded by water. On the last day, my boyfriend and I joined for breakfast. Because of Covid it was breakfast served at the table instead of buffet but that was even better. Very tasty and a big variety of items! Can definitely recommend this hotel :)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a great hotel. The staff are fantastic to deal with. Beds comfortable. Rooms are large, as are the showers. They do lack air conditioning, which is fine 95% of the year, but we managed to arrive in record heat. Staff went out of their way to make the rooms comfortable, however, and it isn’t really their fault. It’s an old heritage building, which means they CAN’T install AC.
This is a very good place to stay. Recommended. There are few places with staff this good. Very few.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is always awesome. The staff is always super friendly. Great location. Parking is a public garage, but very close. Breakfast is also outstanding. Can’t prop these guys up enough!
