Brug Jachtverhuur B.V. Lelystad - Parkhaven 3

Heerlijke zeilweek gehad op de Hope samen met mijn vriend. We waren zeer tevreden met de persoonlijke, enthousiaste en professionele service van Brug Jachtverhuur. Kwaliteit van de boot ook goed, aan de kleine dingen gedacht, alles keurig schoon en in orde. We komen zeker nog eens terug!

Voor de eerste maal een zeilboot gehuurd bij Brug Jachtverhuur. Dat was een bijzonder prettige ervaring. Mooie boten, zeer vriendelijke mensen die uitgebreid de tijd voor je nemen. Wat ook fijn is dat je dichtbij kunt parkeren. Al met al een top weekend gehad. Wij komen zeker terug.

Samen met mijn zoon een midweek geboekt met de Cheers, een Bavaria 32. Mijn vrouw sloot later aan. Voordat ik definitief wilde boeken las ik nog eerst de reviews hier op Google Maps. Ik schrok nogal van twee die zeer negatief waren en trok mijn boeking al bijna terug. Nou, gelukkig desondanks doorgezet. De communicatie per email en telefoon was zeer prettig. De locatie is goed met de auto te bereiken en je kunt je auto gerust achterlaten. De ontvangst door Anita was uitermate hartelijk. We konden redelijk snel naar de boot. Die zag er goed uit. De uitleg was goed. Ik had niet zo veel vragen, maar de voor de paar die ik had werd de tijd genomen. Voor een wat specifieke vraag werd doorverwezen naar Harry. Ook hij nam uitgebreid de tijd om me goed verder te helpen. De boot voer zeer aangenaam en was van alle gemakken voorzien. Geen douche weliswaar, maar daarvoor hebben we gewoon heel veel gezwommen. Het inleveren verliep eveneens heel prettig. Lang verhaal, maar ik het kort dus een aanrader. Zeer vriendelijke en hulpvaardige mensen. Prima boot. Wij komen hier graag terug.

We hebben hier een lang weekend een zeiljacht gehuurd. De boot was slechts 2 maanden oud. Erg prettig. We werden goed geholpen. De tijd werd genomen om uitleg te geven. Verder zijn de voorzieningen in de jachthaven prima en is er een fijn restaurant. De boot had wat kleine mankementjes. Harpje los van de rolfok en vastgelopen leuver in de mast. Beide hebben we zelf (op het water) gerepareerd. Kan gebeuren. Ik vind het belangrijk dat hier (bij terugkomst) goed wordt mee opgegaan. En dat deden ze.

Normally, I am not a person who writes a lot of reviews, but considering that you are easily 1,000€ quit for a weekend, I think it is worth it. To start, we chartered a Hanse 385 for an extended weekend (Friday till Monday). The parking on-site the harbour in Lelystad and to find the charter base was perfect, but this is where the good things end (at least for us). The handing over was fast, for my understanding a bit too fast and very shallow. I have to admit, that I am a relatively young charter quest, but I would have expected more respect towards a person which just invested a not inconsiderable amount of money into this company. Is this too much to ask for? I paid the same price and probably have more experience in sailing than the other charter guests (at least from what I have seen them doing during their boat handling inside the harbour). The boat we got had a lot of defects, which were criticised during the handover, but for which the charter company did not have any solutions. My questions were rather be referred to as ridiculous. The mast was trimmed incorrectly (too soft and not straight), a lifeline was missing, diverse things were broken off or not working, bad smell inside the whole boat (we get to that later), wind gauge did not work, a lot of scratches (sure, it can not be avoided with a charter yacht but some of theme were quite old and I am wondering what the company did with the deposit which they withhold from the causer). On top of that the boat was far away from clean. Till present we do not know if the previous guests missed out on paying the 75€ cleaning fee, but what has done with the boat prior to our arrival was definitely worth less than 75€. We left Lelystad on the same day, heading to Enkhuizen. After 1 hour of sailing the autopilot broke down without any signs of overstraining. Another hour later, when a fellow sailor intended to use the bathroom, we realized that the toilet was not flushing and the black water tank was still full from our predecessors. We realized this since the feces dripped out of the wall behind which the tank is installed. Further explanations are left out. I think you get the point. As soon as we arrived in Enkhuizen, we called the charter company, and the only thing which they were able to offer was to exchange the boat for another one. No further help, no offer to exchange the boats in Enkhuizen. Therefore, we had to change our planned route and sailed back to Lelystad, where we exchanged for a Bavaria 40 Cruiser. Even though the boat was not what we have paid for (no bow-thruster, no self-tacking jib), we were pleased to take it. At least the toilets were working. Also the Bavaria was far away from clean, for my understanding the mast was also too soft, the steering was sluggish, and again a lot of scratches. The overall condition of the boat, even though it is promoted as "NEW" on the webpage was relatively bad. It seemed that the company was convinced that we were the cause for the malfunction of the toilet, since the employee told us that we will have to pay for the repair in case he finds something in the toiletsystem which does not belong there. The fact, that the tank was completely full prior to our arrival on the boat was irrelevant for him. In the end it turned out that a pipe has losen from the tank. I would go that far that this is an error which could have been prevented by good maintenance and taking the bad smell as an indication that something is wrong. On the last day we had more wind than the other days, 15 knots, I would call this perfect sailing weather. I definitively did not expect a boat with 3DL sails, and a high-end rigging, but I also did not expect a boat that gives me the fear of breaking something and risking the health of my crew when sailing in 15 knots. I am very sorry, that I have to write these words. On their website the charter company has a very positive appearance, but the reality which we experienced is way different.

Wow, what an experience the last 5 days has been. We’re looking for a midweek holiday somewhere safe during the corona crisis. Seeing that sailing is one of my favorite things to do, I was surprised the affordable yachts available at Brug Jachtverhuur. More surprising and exciting I was that they had a jeanneau 319. From booking, to pick up we were met by a very friendly professional team of Brug Jachtverhuur. Knowledgeable about sailing, the yachts they are renting out and Markermeer, IJsselmeer. We left and on our way to Marker Wadden (is a must to visited) on our way I couldn’t get the jib up as it got stuck, I didn’t want to force it so I left it and sailed with the main sail. Perfect to get back into sailing after 5 years. Arrived at Marker Wadden I made quite late contact via email to explain the situation. In the morning I received an email to come via Lelystad on our way to Urk. The team at brug Jachtverhuur met as straight away and tried very hard to fix the issue. Unfortunately it was a bit more complicated than they thought. But, however without even asking what next, they had already made an other yacht available. Lucky for us we got an upgrade to a Bavaria 37 called “Felicity” and helped moving us from one to an other. It took only one hour and on our way to, Urk. We loved every minute of our sailing experience on board Felicity, we sailed Lelystad to Marken Wadden, Urk, Hindeloopen back to Lelystad. All three destinations are very cute and great great restaurants at a very affordable prices. Overall, I have found Brug Jachtverhuur extremely friendly, Professional, knowledge and good value for money. Defiantly coming back soon. Thank you to the team. Some tips to the renters, treat the yachts as if it is your own!

The service and communication is very well organized and they have well maintained and beautiful boats. We had a fantastic week on the IJsselmeer. Team Brug Jachtverhuur, thank you for the service, we will definitely be back next season!
