Café de Gaeper - opgericht in 1974 in een oude drogisterij - is al jaren een begrip in hartje Amsterdam. Ons authentiek Amsterdams bruin (eet)café is de perfecte plek voor een lekker drankje en hapje. Locals, toeristen, studenten: iedereen ontmoet elkaar aan onze gezellige bar. Ook als u een feestje wilt organiseren bent u bij ons van harte welkom. ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great little place with a fantastic range of beers and very knowledgeable staff. Decent pub grub too, nothing fancy but good quality and reasonably priced. Pads out the craft beer nicely! Also a cat which is an instant winner in the book of anyone who is anyone.

There bartender/owner Dennis was a terrific person, not only was he personable but was very knowledgeable about the food and drink, which is excellent by the way, but he is also knowledgeable of the areas history. I would highly recommend coming here for anyone that is looking for a quaint little restaurant in a really great party of town.

I found it from thorough online searching and it was beyond my expectations.
I ordered the steak and it was a great portion with fries and salad. Do try it!
The vibe is so cozy and it has a charm I can't explain. Very romantic.
The person who served us was taking care of the bar and the service. He is one of the sweetest people in Amsterdam and did his best to give us a great first experience at their bar.
I would definitely come again!
