An architectural firm with a lot of experience and expertise in their field. Within the office, much thought is being given to making the building process more efficient and the sustainability of a building. That is why this office is one of the innovative pioneers in construction.

If you sign a contract with cie., or antother dutch arch.bureau : 1. Dont let them mis-manage you, like for example if you are trained as architect that you land on some sociology-like-research project of theirs etc. that u assist with any-thing they(!) might need at that moment etc. Like has happened here to me. Complete loss of your (!) time & energy. Pure "o-n-z-i-n". 2. If you are a "trainee" : First of all you have to be a student, and NO graduated architect !! Than as a trainee you dont have to offer NO skill, you are not payed NO thing anyways. And its the idea that you learn (still being a student too). As a trainee you should learn, a skill for example or some work-process, from the company. And they should support you actively (!) in this e.g. through their HR, and material resource. Pay attention that here, but also in many other dutch arch.offices, they will "normally" ask more skills from the trainee than from the people they have on permanent contracts ! This is a serious red flag, isnt it. 3. What also happens very often with/to trainees in dutch arch.offices is that they get no attention, supervision, or help from the regular staff. But instead are left to cope with everything, from software/s to daily work, up-to and even this: finding a free work-place for the day! Make sure that the company provide time and resource available for you. Thats their obligation. And make sure you spend your time as a trainee for further developing professionally yourself , and not just doing "something" as NOT-paid work-force. 4. If you need work& residence etc. permits: Let the company obtain these for you. Same goes for your housing. Some assistance, if needed, should absolutely apply, certainly in a country with a problematic housing market like the netherlands. 5. Should the bureau kindly offer you a (n.b. not-payed) traineeship asking skills from you such as: AutoCad, Rhinoceros, Revit, Grasshopper and VRay, and already valid work permits plus arranged housing nearby their office address, as well as a few languages as of their choice, including theirs (dutch) of course...- Simply ask a (starter-) salary as according to the Dutch BNA-CAO vs your current/ expected education level and most importantly: vs your already acquired skills! And let the company arrange all permits and housing for you again nevertheless, if you need that. 6. The shorter contract the company offers you, The more remuneration you should ask - its for your risk/s again, thats why. Dont let them "confuse" price and skills under traineeships and/or employment-contracts! Especially not if you re-locate. Especially not if you are already graduated. Good luck! ... In general, I do NOT recommend doing traineeship/s and especially NOT starting your architectural career in the netherlands. You wont learn or develop much, You wont get payed NO-thing either- What could be worse !
