Всего в Заансе-Сханс можно посетить 6 работающих мельниц, две из которых давят масло, две лесопилки, горчичная и красильная мельницы. Первоначально мельница De Os построена еще в 1663 году, в связи с чем она является одной из старейших промышленных мельниц в Заанском районе. В 1916 году с мельницы были сняты капот, паруса и стойки. Но внутренняя работа мельницы осталась, от использования ветра перешли к другому источнику энергии - дизельному двигателю.
