Terug in de tijd
In het kort de geschiedenis van De Taveerne. Het horecabedrijf is opgericht in 1979 en werd geëxploiteerd als Bar - Eethuis De Taveerne, een Plateservice restaurant dat gespecialiseerd was in een “Snelle Hap”. De bezoekers bestonden toen voornamelijk uit toeristen en enkele Texelaars. Ook werd het bedrijf veel bezocht door “Dagjesmensen”. Zo werd de toerist genoemd, die zich per bus naar het eiland liet vervoeren, een rondrit deed en ook nog 30 minuten de tijd had om te eten, een plas te doen, om daarna weer naar het vaste land terug te gaan.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Service was a little slow and the meal was mediocre at best. Not a terrible place but I wouldn't go again unless I was just having a coffee and doing some people watching.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We choose this restaurant cause it looks really nice from the outside with nice decor and stylish.
We asked for a English card just to make it easier instead of me translating the whole card for my non dutch speaking friend.
This card came after a while, and we made a choice.
When we were waiting for our food, one of the waiter gave us a bill from the table next to us (and there wasn't so much people outside)
When the food arrived, we had to wait 5
/ 10 min for the side dishes, that our main meal was cold. We received only one side dish for two meal.
(I told them this, and they're explanation was there was a lot costumers)
In my experience they could smile a bit more, and be a bit more service talented.
Afterall, the food was alright, definitely not the best and way overpriced for what it was.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ No variation in the menu. There is only one vega dishe and there is a plane pasta only with herbs (not a full meal). The staff is also not able to answer questions properly and they are not so friendly. I will not come back here and i will not recommend this place.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place does not do takeaway... As the waiter rudely informed me upon asking. You'd think during the pandemic they'd make it easier to order and appreciate keeping their terrace open for other customers who don't mind the risk of eating in. Perhaps I'll get to try this place someday after the pandemic has gone. At least it looks pretty from the outside.

The paella was topped with a variety of seafood and I can also recommend the local beef Carpaccio.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We have dinner in this beautiful place, an incredibly friendly staff, and an excellent and delicious meal. The atmosphere is very welcoming, the attention is perfect, the food is divine, and you can order a candle at your dessert if you are on your birthday. I'll repeat.
