About Dierentehuis Stevenshage
De brandweer van Rijnsburg heeft zaterdagavond een jonge kat gered uit een ondergrondse vuilcontainer. Het dier was opgemerkt door een buurtbewoonster toen ze vuilnis wilde weggooien en gemiauw hoorde uit de container.
De vrouw belde direct de brandweer voor assistentie. De brandweer heeft de container aan de Duizendschoon opengemaakt en is op zoek gegaan naar de kat. In één van de vuilniszakken zat een reismand voor katten, waar de kat in zat.
De dierenambulance heeft de kat gecontroleerd. En zondagmorgen is de kat opgehaald en overgebracht naar dierenasiel Stevenshage. De politie doet onderzoek naar de zaak.

β β β β β Uitstekend dierenasiel en -pensioen met goede zorg voor alle dieren (en baasjes)! Helaas bleek onze poes erg gestrest te zijn vanwege deze voor haar nieuwe ervaring. Ze kreeg persoonlijke aandacht en hulp om te wennen en het naar haar zin te maken. Daar werd keurig en open over gecommuniceerd, incl. wat aandachtspunten voor een mogelijk volgende keer.
 Excellent animal shelter and pension with good care for all animals (and owners)! Unfortunately, our kitty turned out to be very stressed because of this for her new experience. She received personal attention and help to get used to it and to make it to her liking. There was neat and open communication about this, including some points for attention for a possible next time.

β β β β β Twee katjes opgehaald. De dieren worden goed behandeld en het personeel is echt begaan met de dieren en heel vriendelijk. Ze konden ook veel zeggen over waar de katjes vandaan kwamen. Zeker de moeite waard om te kijken als je een huisdier wilt.
Picked up two cats. The animals are treated well and the staff really care about the animals and are very friendly. They could also say a lot about where the kittens came from. Well worth a look if you want a pet.

Very nice and well looked after shelter and guest house, professionals! Always good and friendly help after adopting our cat from this shelter.

β β β β β Ik heb er 2vogels opgehaald. Het ziet er leuk en verzorgd uit.De dieren die ik gezien heb zijn rustig en relax. Personeel is erg vriendelijk.
I picked up 2 birds. It looks nice and cared for. The animals I have seen are calm and relaxed. Staff are very friendly.

β β β β β We found an injured bird at our balcony and called them for help. The call center staff was super nice and friendly. We waited for 1 hour and the ambulance came. The staff that picked up the bird said they already picked up 38 animals that day. We respected the officer a lot to still be friendly after the long exhausting day. Thank you very much guys! You save a lot of lives!

β β β β β In October 2021, we left three of our dogs at this pet hotel. They were placed in two kennels. They stayed there for 1 week. When we arrived to pick up the dogs, we were taken to the room where they were kept. It stank and was filthy. The kennel consists of concrete walls and a floor, a metal door. The floor was tilted and there was either water or urine below. The dogs were running away from that place. One of our dogs had a wounded nose. Upon arriving home, we heard that one of our dogs was coughing, and the next day the second dog also had a cough. We took our dogs to the veterinarian and there we found out that it was a dog kennel cough. We are lucky that our dogs are vaccinated against this disease. They are now undergoing symptomatic treatment. As a result: my dogs did not like that pet hotel, we paid 360 euros for a week of keeping them, and another 130 euros for a doctor's examination and medicine. Would I recommend this pet hotel? The answer is no.
