J	Jeff Thomas on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ What a discovery! Fantastic food - I'll remember the garlic peppers for a long time - perfect service, cold beer and ouzo and a genuinely welcoming atmosphere. Eirini really made us feel like we were part of the family and was very happy to guide us in our choices to make sure that we ate like royalty at a very reasonable price. There aren't many family businesses like Dionysos left these days, so get along and support them because you'll never get a meal or a welcome like theirs from Vapiano or Nandos. Highly, highly recommended.
J	Jovana on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A nice Greek restaurant on Overtoom. Hospitality and atmosphere overall are very good - it feels Greek, the owners are Greek and very hospitable. It's great if you want to go there with few friends as the concept is food sharing (though not necessary). Prices are also pretty good for Amsterdam. The food, however, needs to go one level higher, both in terms of quality of ingredients and preparation. I have been at this place multiple times and I feel like the quality has gone down. For example, their oven-baked potatoes were slightly overcooked (my impression is that they were pre-prepared and just warmed up); same for tuna - it was overcooked. After eating you feel like 'this was good, I am full' but you do not walk out with a feeling 'this was the best food I've ever had'. I also noticed that the menu didn't change at all in the past couple of years - for me a good restaurant needs to keep innovating and experimenting. I would certainly recommend this place but would love to see them up their game and live up to their potential.
