About Dutch Museum of working-class districts
Wat was de rol van arbeid in Wijk C? Waar verdienden mensen zoal hun geld mee? En ging dit hen een beetje makkelijk af? Met deze audiotour ontdek je hoe werken en leven eraan toe ging in de volksbuurt.
Loop mee door de straatjes van de (voormalige) volksbuurt en ontdek de beroepen, omstandigheden en het leven in Wijk C tussen 1900 en 1940. Hoor over de verhalen van venten met vis door de straten, tot de bakker in de Willemstraat en de cafés en logementen door de hele wijk.
In de jaren 90 heeft het Volksbuurt zo'n 250 interviews gehouden met inwoners van Utrechtse volkswijken. Fragmenten uit deze interviews zijn verwerkt in de audiotour.
De route start en eindigt bij het Volksbuurtmuseum en duurt ongeveer drie kwartier.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The museum is an interesting experience, it is not like most normal once. You can "pay" coins to the people inside with coins you get there. They will tell their story or some other story. The are also some films to watch if you want, there you get to hear a ok the history of Utrecht. It's fun to go to, so take a look.
