Het verhaal van de steak!
Het vlees is uitsluitend afkomstig van jonge stierkalveren, die zich dagelijks in alle vrijheid voeden met het malse gras van de Argentijnse Pampa’s. Met 50 miljoen dieren beschikt Argentinië over de één na grootste kudde ter wereld. Door de juiste verhouding van het klimaat, de rijke bodem en uitgestrekte landschappen op de pampa’s zijn de runderen van de hoogste kwaliteit.
Omdat de Argentijnse runderen worden gevoerd met gras in plaats van graan onderscheidt het vlees zich van de rest. Het Argentijnse vee krijgt meer beweging en eet wel 100 verschillende soorten gras.
Het vlees heeft daardoor niet alleen een betere smaak, maar bevat ook 10% minder cholesterol en 25% minder vet.
Het vlees wordt niet ingevroren maar vacuüm verpakt en gekoeld verscheept. Hierdoor kan het rijpen zonder waardevol vocht te verliezen. De reis van de pampa’s naar ons restaurant duurt vier tot zes weken. In die tijd bereikt het vlees zijn optimale smaak.
In het restaurant wordt het vlees boven een houtskool grill bereid, waardoor het vlees een bijzondere smaak krijgt.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The best steaks in town - with authentic grilled steaks and excellent side dishes, this is the place to be if you like your steaks the Argentine way.
Also a nice selection of side dishes, a modest salad bar and some great desserts. Outdoor seating is limited but the whole front opens up during summer so even when you're sitting in the back, you'll still get some fresh air.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ People in this town clearly don’t know what a steak is and how it should be prepared. Avoid. Ordered medium rib eye but got a well done steak. Fries are of the frozen type. Far to pricey for what you get. Wine was fine.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ El Ternero specializes in good beef, and it really is good! Some of the best meat I've had in a long time. The waiters were very kind and professional, and also the chef came to ask if everything was as it should be.
A very good experience, highly recommended!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It is a peaty, the soup was good, meat was great, the rest was not good at all and the service was unacceptable. I left half of my meal, they asked to me why, I explained my reason but they didn't do anything about so, why ask?

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Would have rated with 1-2 extra stars if the serving staff wasn't as chaotic as it was for us. There were maybe 10 tables to serve but staff was clearly not equipped for this. Long delays with handing out menu's, taking orders, serving drinks, forgetting cutlery when serving food, not asking for drinks or desert, and communicating with customers in a rush. Also poor knowledge of the menu and wines. The food was good enough, but not very inspiring. Meat was alright but not exactly prepared as asked; we ordered medium-rare but it was definitely served rare. Garnishing on the plate was sparse and dry, a nice dressing would have made it a lot better. Garlic & Tomato Scampi's were tasteful, as was the filled bell pepper. But even good food could not have made us feel at ease with the serving issues going on. Hopefully it was only temporary!

My GF had the lomo and it was perfect. Soft, juicy and great taste.
I had the spareribs. Taste was very good, but a bit cold. The chef asked how everything was and I told him about the temperature. He ran to the grill to come back in 10 minutes with a new plate. This time very hot and excellent marinated.
This is what gastromy should be about. Thank you for the great experience. We will definitely come back!
