Sneeuwluipaarden Joep en Maddy

Gister aan het eind van de dag mochten de sneeuwluipaarden naar hun grote verblijf.
Al met al duurde het toch langer dan we dachten, want ze hebben behoorlijk moeten wennen aan de dierverzorgers, het binnenverblijf en het separatieverblijf. Het is belangrijk dat ze zich daar echt thuis voelen en de weg terug naar het eten en binnenverblijf zonder problemen nemen.
Na een klein half uur stapte Maddy al het grote verblijf in en ging rustig liggen om alles in zich op te nemen. Joep kwam niet veel later ook een kijkje nemen.

Maddy is een pittige dame en laat het kaas absoluut niet van haar brood eten. Joep is een stuk rustiger.

Op dit moment is Landgoed Hoenderdaell het enige dierenpark in Nederland met deze diersoort. Beide dieren komen uit een dierentuin in Engeland die ging sluiten.

E	Elinne Venema on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Beautiful zoo with spacious enclosures with lots of interesting animals (wolves, tigers, lions, bears, lots of different kinds of birds, monkeys and more) and the zoo itself is like walking through a forest. Plenty of shadow and places to sit. The restaurants aren't cheap, but the big one has a big playground and plenty of shadow. (the smaller one has a playground, but not a lot of shadow to sit in to get out of the sun.) I went here with my husband and my 14 m/o child and we had a wonderful day.

Ethical Ness has been incorporated so that the animals are at all times the ones that come first special barriers make great observation points to see the cats. Food and drinks are also available to buy. Lovely place for locals and tourists. Educational and fun for all ages.

Not only is Hoenderdaell worth the visit, Stichting Leeuw is by itself enough reason. My suggestion, make yourself a member and supporter of this wonderful institution and get a behind the scenes tour. And you will see and understand the love of everyone working here for those big cats. The bird show, wolfs, ring-tailed lemurs, etc. all make it for a nice visit. it also includes a lot of options for kids, which will love this place as well.

Monkey Island where you walk amongst them. Up close and personal with lots of animals. Good sized enclosures with subtle viewing holes for the big cats.
