Lately we’ve been getting a lot of complaints. From you, Dutch folks. All complaints concern our policy of advising only expats. Some of you go as far as accusing us of discrimination.
That really does hurt and that’s why we have decided to come up with a statement. Ten years ago we discovered that there wasn’t a single independent mortgage advisor that specialized in advising expats.
All documents were written in Dutch and therefore expats didn’t have a clue what they were signing for. Also, none of the existing mortgage advisors were fully aware of all the latest tax issues and regulations for expats. That’s when we decided to set up a business that specializes in mortgages for expats only.
Since then we’ve become marketleader and expats from more than 70 nationalities have found their way to us. To show their appreciation they posted over 300 testimonials on our website. Their kind words make us blush and encourage us even more to hold on to our business formula.
By helping the Dutch as well we would no longer be able to guarantee the highest level of service that we are loved for by the expats. That said, we would like to apologise to the Dutch but we can not and will not be of help to you. Unless you can come up with a way to become an expat yourself.

Expat Mortgages has been very informative and transparent right from the beginning of our journey to get our home.
Within the intake session, we were introduced to the whole process, how it works, what we can expect. Essentially, all those information held true through the journey without any surprise. That was the most important factor for us personally as we do not like surprises in these big decisions. The team was also very thorough and detailed when it came to paperwork, which was paramount given the importance of the documents.
The whole team was very enthusiastic (at least the ones we came into contact with), knowledgeable, professional, responsive, helpful, and friendly. Expat Mortgages helped me (US) and my partner (FR) for the whole mortgage process, from estimating our budget before we even started looking, to double-checking all the numbers from the notary (PLUS providing us with free tax return support!!). I can't recommend them enough. All of the documents were provided in English, but even beyond that our advisor David explained each number and process to us and answered all of our questions in-depth, making everything super simple. It really reassured us to have someone explaining the process, as this was our first time trying to buy. Communication was super easy, and there were no surprises the entire process (actually--a good surprise when we found out about the tax return support). If you're looking to buy in the Netherlands, I would recommend Expat Mortgages.
