β β β β β Vriendelijke mensen, ik kwam aan met een oude fiets met een tegenwoordig zeldzaam soort remmen. Omdat deze niet meer te krijgen zijn hebben ze het schoongemaakt en bijgeschuurd, maar of hij het nog een paar maanden of een paar jaar zou doen, konden zij niet zeggen. Het bleek welgeteld een week te zijn. Jammer, als ik dit geweten had, had ik het natuurlijk niet laten repareren en direct een nieuwe fiets gekocht. Scheelt toch 45 euro.
 Friendly people, I arrived with an old bike with a nowadays rare type of brakes. Because these are no longer available, they have cleaned and sanded it, but whether he would do it for a few more months or a few years, they could not say. It turned out to be exactly a week. Too bad, if I had known this, I would of course not have had it repaired and immediately bought a new bike. Saves 45 euros.

β β β β β They did excellent work! I'd taken my bike to four other bike shops in Delft, and Piet Vonk did by far the best job. I have a folding bike who's frame hinges had gotten wonky over time, and no other bike shops could do anything about it (the people at Halfords were so snobby about the bike's condition they said I should stop trying to maintain it and get a new one--bad attitude), but the Piet Vonk folks fixed it up, even doing some minor welding! Plus they did a good job of general yearly maintenance tune-up.
I highly recommend them, plan on going back.

β β β β β I was actually looking forward to going here having read so many good reviews. Unfortunately the owner was quite unfriendly. Arrived to explain I have some issues with my chain jumping sometimes, asking if they could investigate it. The bike is not in very bad condition and still works fine, but owner without saying hello says straight "next week old metal is collected thats where you should throw it". I say that I would like to keep the bike because I got it from a family member which passed away and the only reply I get is "hang it above your bed then". Without touching my bike or asking any questions, he says bike is unfixable because the gear system is the culprit. I asked him if maybe he would like to drive a few meters with it just to get a feeling if it really isnt something else, but he refused to even try that. No real alternative options were presented other than put some oil on the chain and pray it works. No goodbye while we left the shop. You just lost me a potential customer as well as my partner who is a regular customer, who joined today and also thought this was very unfriendly behaviour. Some more friendliness would have gone a long way.
