About Fitologie - Dietist in Amsterdam

Mijn naam is Merel te Riet Scholten. In 2018 ben ik begonnen aan de opleiding Voeding en Diëtetiek en sinds een jaar versterk ik het team van Fitologie. Samen een band opbouwen en doelen stellen is elke keer weer een uitdaging die ik graag aan ga. Niks geeft meer voldoening dat iemand helpen zijn doelen te behalen!

Zelf ben ik dagelijks bezig met het verbeteren van mijn gezondheid. Toen ik begon met krachttraining durfde ik zo goed als geen gewicht aan te raken. Ik was altijd bang wat er van mij gedacht zou worden of dat ik zou falen. Inmiddels sta ik zelfverzekerd in de sportschool met maar liefst 60 kg in mijn nek tijdens het squaten. Deze ontwikkeling wens ik voor iedereen.

Danny has been my online personal coach/trainer since May of 2019, so around 7 months now. In these 7 months, Danny has developed several weight lifting programmes specifically tailored to my body, preferences and goals, backed up by his deep knowledge and understanding of the human body, biomechanics and weight lifting exercises. Furthermore, Danny has helped me develop a regular, healthy diet and increased my understanding of nutrition significantly by giving me personalised advice and tips, including meal plans, recipe suggestions, etc. Communication with Danny is always pleasant and motivational and it's always a two-way street; he listens to my preferences and adjusts the programme accordingly. Any question I have, Danny replies to quickly and thoroughly. I should add that I already had some experience with weight lifting and nutrition beforehand, so I was not a complete beginner. The online coaching that Danny provides me with requires that you already have some prior experience with weight lifting. For people like me, this online coaching is extremely valuable as Danny does all the thinking and all I have to do is go to the gym and lift the weights. The custom-made weight lifting programmes suited to my personal preferences and goals, along with the nutritional and dietary advice, as well as the pleasant, motivational, regular communication and Danny's in-depth advice about exercise form and execution have helped me get into the best shape I've ever been in. I am very happy with the physical progress that I have made over the last seven months thanks to Danny. I highly recommend the Danny's online coaching to any semi-experienced or experienced weight lifter and I highly recommend Danny as a dietician to everyone.

Danny is a top-tier personal trainer and dietician. I highly, highly recommend him for anyone looking for the complete package (strength training and/or weight loss, dieting, mobility, cardio, etc.). Up front, Danny takes the time to understand your body’s current level of mobility, flexibility, and strength, and then develops a personalized training regimen around your goals. I really like the fact that Danny took to the time to teach me the proper breathing and exercise techniques before escalating the workout plan. He really focuses on the fundamentals, which is something other personal trainers tend to gloss over. And when it comes to nutrition, Danny is the perfect coach. He’s straightforward with the facts and always keen to get you eat well, but NEVER pushy about it. Danny is always polite, punctual, and extremely thoughtful when answering your questions. He’s also a genuinely nice and easy-going person, which means I always look forward to training day!

I started consulting with this dietitian Danny in September 2020. I can highly recommend him! He taught me life-long skills of macro-nutrient balancing and making the right food choices, along with easy to follow strength building exercises. I can honestly say that due to the programme he developed and the timely support and follow-up, the 23kg he helped me lose in 7 months has stayed away since. Now I am fitter and healthier than ever. I search a lot before having a dietitian here, then I found Danny. Not only he helped with my diet plan, later he started as my personal trainer, which was by far the best one I had here in Amsterdam. He is very knowledgeable, keeps track of your metrics and goals, never let you stagnate, always pushing you to do better. You will not regret, highly recommend him!

I never believed in dietiticians until I met Danny. He quickly assessed my situation and clearly defined with me a body improvement road map made of simple steps and comprehensible tools. 1 year down the road and I lost 15 kg. I then joined his gym lessons and started growing mussels. I have never felt so good with my body and my life. Warning : Danny's passion and dedication to his job are addicting.

It’s hard to find someone who’s both a good personal trainer AND dietician, but Danny is top-notch at both and great guy on top of that. When I hit a wall with my fitness goals, I knew it was time to find a PT and Danny did not disappoint. He keeps a close eye on my progress, has helped me improve my weightlifting technique massively, and has tailored a workout routine for me which we fine-tune regularly based on my growth. I would recommend Danny especially if you are already self-motivated and want to push yourself to the next level. Unlike most PTs, instead of only focussing on the exercises in the workout sessions, he’ll also provide you the knowledge to improve your fitness on your own outside of these sessions. Highly recommend him!
