Lovely new bar located a short walk from the Markt, in the centre of Maastricht. Nice colour scheme, attentive staff. All the usual drinks available, and beer on tap, but a surprising lack of bottled beers. The area is renowned for bars having a great choice of Belgian beers. Maybe Fitzroy could buck this trend by hosting a small selection of beers from other countries on a rolling monthly basis. Just a thought on how to create a USP.

Great food, service at top. You can decide for a single dish, for a 3-dish menu or for a 5-dish menu. We decided for the 3-dish and we payed around 36€ each. You have a discrete selection (3 or 4 proposal for each dish) and each we tried was tasty and not-banal. Duck is reco!

This review is for the restaurant. Unfortunately I had a really mediocre experience here today at lunch. I arrived and there was only one other couple there with an extremely noisy barking dog, which although might not be the fault of the hotel is something to think about when allowing them in and assessing how much it disturbs other guests. The staff were lovely, helpful and accommodating, but the food took absolutely ages to arrive. This is incomprehensible given there were only two others diners. 40 minutes for a cold starter as part of a lunch menu, when people are often pushed for time? At least the starter was good; sadly I can't say the same for the main course, a piece of cod that was served (after another long wait) raw in the middle. The sum of a number of complicated ingredients was not greater than its parts, and when I discovered the raw fish I sent it back, and left. If a kitchen of an establishment like this takes almost an hour to serve two dishes to an empty restaurant, and one of the dishes is not properly cooked, you have to wonder what is going on. A real pity.

A lovely little hotel in the heart of Maastricht, literally just a few minutes walk from the market squares and pedestrian streets, which have a superb selection of restaurants and bars. The hotel is set in traditional buildings, with a great bar, with super friendly staff, on the ground floor. I had the only room on the 4th floor, which was spacious and spotlessly clean. Unfortunately I had to leave before breakfast ?.

Not satisfied at all with the food. I knew duck menu can be served in medium fried but not raw as what I got on my plate. And the fish menu that we ordered was also not fresh fish taste. Complaint to them but they said there was nothing wrong with the food that they served. So pity..

Went for a dinner there and can higly recommend. The staff is very kind. The food was great, with high attention to detail and interesting mixture of tastes. We were also in a hurry in the end, amd tjey speed up our order so we were able to be on time.

Unfortunately our stay and experience at Fitz Roy was well-below our expectations and poor. At this price level (180 EUR per night for a standard room WITHOUT breakfast) the guest experience must be MUCH higher. The reception is tucked away in the back at the restaurant. Upon check-in, almost no customer interaction whatsoever. I understand COVID-19 measures make it challenging but nevertheless, the first impression walking into this hotel is very impersonal / non-welcoming and there is very little to stimulate the senses.. The room itself is average with the highlight being the bed itself however the pillows were terrible in our view. The real thing that ruined our goodnights rest was the fact that the insulation between rooms is very poor. We stayed in room 303 and literally heard everything from room 304. Upon check-out, we honestly shared our dissatisfaction which was listened to carefully and the response was genuine. A compensation was offered so we didn't pay for the parking (21 EUR) which was appreciated, but in the end left the hotel very disappointed.
