The younger guys who work there are great. They give you the full details about the decent bikes available on the floor. Don't just go based off an ad you see on marktplaats because the owner seems to use some bait and switch tactics to draw people out to the store. I am not sure I would have had a positive response if the owner had been there when I was there but I enjoyed getting insight from the employees. The bike I bought is decent enough for the price, but make no mistake, this is just another shop that buys auctioned bicycles then puts a minimum amount of parts on them so they are functional and they are sold at a decently large profit for the business owners. The website makes this place look like a kitschy sort of hipster "old-style" Dutch bike shop. It is not that. Just know the quality of bike you would like for the price you want and then check the place out. It is cheaper than places in the city center but not necessarily better.

AVOID THIS PLACE!! I should have read the reviews, but all I needed was a new tube to fix a tire at home. When I put it in, it had a leak, so I brought it to the store. First he said it was not a tube they sell, until I showed it was the same as he had on the rack. Then he accused me of trying to return a used tube. The tube still had the powder on it inside and out. Finally he then blamed me for installing it wrong and saying that I should have had him do the work. I've replaced lots of tubes in my life having worked at a bike shop when I was younger. He refused any refund or replacement and was very nasty about it.

WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! This guy is a con, I let him repair my flat tire and within days my chain kept falling of, 6 times in a row. Also my bike started to cycle weird. I went to another bikeshop 'Zwarte Fietsenplan' to let my chain and back tire be repaired and the guy there told me that the weel was installed totally wrong which caused all of my problems. I went back to The flying Dutch and told what happened and asked if he could fix my bike for free or I could either get my money back, suddenly he started screaming at me and accused me of having an old bike or breaking my own bike. I think it is a very rude thing to start screaming at your customers. PLEASE NEVER GO HERE EVER AGAIN, HE DOES NOT DESERVE TO MAKE ANY MONEY.

Bought a second-hand Betavus bike in February for €120. Within 2 weeks, the chain broke. When I went to fix it, they said "things that are used" was not in warranty, so I paid for €15 for a chain and extra cost for renting a bike back home. 3 weeks later the crankset/pedal axis broke, and it's not repairable!!! Definitely would *not* recommend the quality and service.

Terrible service, terrible organization and not-so-cheap prices. I rented a bike for 4 days some weeks ago: after just some hours of cycling I got a flat tyre and I had to walk all the way back to the store. The guy working there never apologized for what everyone would consider a and service and told me that I had to pay an extra 15€ to change the tyre. He gave me another bike but the seat wouldn't move so I came back some hours afterwards just to find another guy working there who kept me waiting for 15 minutes till someone else came and could give me, 48 hours and 15€ after, a bike that worked properly. Remember that the price that you see advertised doesn't cover ANYTHING, this place is to be avoided!

The service is horrible. We rented a Ductch bike and it caught a flat tire on the first day. When we went to the shop to complain about it the guy told us that we had to pay for it, if he could patch it 10 € extra or if he had to replace it 15 € extra. We were not informed about the conditions anytime. Hence we wanted to revoke the rent but he told us that only our deposit would be returned but the rent fees would not. The owner wasn't clear at all when he talked to us and barely understood what we were asking for. Finally we had to pay 15 € for the flat tire, thus meaning that the inner tube was in bad conditions or had many patches otherwise patching it would have been enough. Furthermore, the first time we went he didn't require any ID proof or anything, but on the second time a picture of our ID was taken with his phone. I don't recommend this place at all

Attention!!! Catastrophic service! The people working there are engaged in a robbery! We were at conference with friends and hired 3 bicycles. In 2 hours of driving tire was blew, and I am not sure that I am really guilty of it and that it was no trap. I took the bicycle to a workshop and asked to repair it. In exchange I was given the new bicycle. At a speed set I noticed discomfort and found easy deformation on a back wheel. I returned also this bicycle. The Nr 3 was quite good. As a result, the worker of service who is badly speaking English didn't give me 15 euros for the tire and 50!!! euro for pseudo repair of a back wheel. Thus it didn't replace a wheel, and to me refused to give. Also to me a rough form was refused when I suggested to repair a wheel for much smaller priсe. Result: NEVER ADDRESS TO THESE THIEVES!

The worst bike shop I have ever been in my four years in Amsterdam. We arrived there to buy a mud-cover for the back wheel of my bike and the guy on the shop kindly offered to mount it. After 20 minutos waiting, he came back with the bike and the mud-cover on, but the breaks in the back where hitting agains the wheel making it very hard to pedal. We told him about it and he answered that we should try it first. After having a quick look to the back wheel we found out that the mud-cover didn't fit nicely in the bike model I had, plus it was making it hard to use the breaks. Basically, he returned a non-functioning bike on the place of a perfectly well working bike. He offered us to leave the bike and pick it up another day, or else to unmount it and take it with us home. However, he asked for 5 euros since they used their time to mount the mud-cover and they will have to take it off"just because we don't like how it looks like" (something we never even mentioned) , to which I answered that I didn't think it was right to pay for a non-service (they gave us a broken bike, and they could see it when they gave it to us). He ended up the argument by refusing to do anything at all about it and we where left there with 10 euros less and a broken bike. All in all, I feel like they stole my money and cheated on me. I don't care much about the 10 euros as about how shamelessly he get away with this situation and refused to fix his own mess.
