About Gandhi

Onze droom om in Zwolle een traditioneel Indiaas restaurant op te zetten is in 2005 werkelijkheid geworden. Wij Masud en Marieke Khan willen de mensen uit Zwolle en omgeving kennis laten maken met en laten genieten van de authentieke Indiase keuken.

Masud Khan, geboren in Bangladesh, heeft het koken geleerd in het restaurant van zijn oom in India. Daarna heeft hij aldaar zijn koksdiploma gehaald. Nadat hij verhuisd is naar Nederland heeft hij zijn kennis toegepast in Nederland, om hiermee zo authentiek mogelijk Indiase gerechten te bereiden. Hierdoor is de smaak gelijk gebleven aan die van de traditionele Indiase gerechten. Het resultaat kunt u ervaren in ons restaurant.

Marieke Khan, zoals de voornaam al aangeeft, geboren in Nederland, is in 1989 getrouwd met Masud. En vanaf dat moment hebben ze hard gewerkt om hun dromen om te zetten in plannen, en die plannen tot werkelijkheid te brengen. Het resultaat is hun grote trots aan de Oude Vismarkt. Een restaurant waar zij al hun inspiratie en vrije tijd in hebben gestopt.

They have served pizza bread as garlic naan Simply placed 4/6garlic on that bread Navratna kurma is simply a bitter boiled veg curry without any good flavour and taste Madras chicken and chicken curry is some what better But madras chicken is not authentic How ever its good to see indian resturant in holland but its bad when the food you have ordered is not as expected Service is very good Papad is nice Rice is nice

c	charbel kanaan on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The raitha was made with the wrong kind of yoghurt, the panner curry was way too sweet, it's not supposed to be that sweet. The garlic naan had no ghee on it. The entire experience was completely inauthentic! Not going back unfortunately
J	Jason Railton on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This restaurant provides dishes more in the style of the 'Indian Restaurants' you find in England - lots of flavour, spicy heat, generous meat or vegetable portions in rich sauces - rather than what someone from India might describe as authentic Indian cuisine. Having said that, it's one of the best I've come across the world over. Food is delicious; everything from mild and sweet dishes to hot enough to challenge the palate, yet the flavour is never overpowered by the heat. But nor do they hold back on spices the way many Asian cafés in the Netherlands do. Staff are kind and very helpful. As an Englishman abroad this is a must-visit place. I just wish they did 600km deliveries!
M	Mohjah MK on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were there pretty early.. so the lady was busy drying up the utensils and the kitchen upstairs was starting up... they were not settle about it.. the lady was sort of throwing the spoons on each other which was very noisy and the whole place was smelling like charcoal... the result was headache! The food was not any better.. i have been to many indian restaurants before but this one wasnt as good as any of them.. the rice wasn't well cooked and the spices of the curry didnt compliment each other. Too bad.
