★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Aan de weg van Geulle aan de Maas naar Geulle, vlakbij het Juliana kanaal, ligt Kasteel Geulle. De ligging is mooi. Het poortje van de kasteelhoeve is gesloten. Meer dan deze kasteelhoeve/poortgebouw blijkt er ook niet te zijn, daar het originele kasteel in 1847 gesloopt is en de stenen en hout die de sloop opleverde verkocht zijn. Het huidige domein is al sinds 1903 in bezit van dezelfde familie. Was het poortje open, en kon je er bijvoorbeeld wat drinken, dan waren het 4 sterren geweest. Nu, door het gesloten poortje, kom ik maar op 3 sterren, want dit maakt het helaas niet de moeite om er voor naar Geulle te rijden. De kasteelhoeve die er nu nog staat ziet er wel goed onderhouden uit. Volgens de tekeningen heeft er voor 1847 een groot imposant kasteel gestaan. Jammer dat dat er niet meer is.
Kasteel Geulle is located on the road from Geulle aan de Maas to Geulle, near the Juliana canal. The location is beautiful. The gate of the castle farm is closed. It appears that there is no more than this castle farm / gatehouse, since the original castle was demolished in 1847 and the stones and wood that resulted in the demolition were sold. The current domain has been owned by the same family since 1903. If the gate was open, and you could drink something there, it would have been 4 stars. Now, through the closed gate, I only get 3 stars, because unfortunately this does not make it worthwhile to drive to Geulle. The castle farm that still stands today looks well maintained. According to the drawings, there was a large imposing castle before 1847. Too bad there is no more.
