★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Das ist ein sehr schöner, kleiner Ort mit vielen schönen Häusern und Gärten, die über Wasserkanäle miteinander verbunden sind. Man kann sie sich über Wege und kleine Brücken zu Fuß oder mit Booten von den Kanälen aus ansehen. Es hat uns sehr gut gefallen. Wir waren auch im letzten Jahr schon mal dort. Man kann auch sehr gut dort mit den Fahrrädern fahren.
This is a very nice, small place with many beautiful houses and gardens, which are connected by water channels. You can see them via paths and small bridges on foot or by boat from the canals. We liked it very much. We have been there last year. You can also go there very well with the bicycles.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Giethoorn is a must-visit site for anyone in the Netherlands. It is a car-free village and we took a guided cruise around Giethoorn. As expected, ducks and swans are visible, swimming freely. The feeling that I get when I was there was that I was in another era of the century. Everything was laid-back and slow moving. My feelings, anyway.
The whole area is full of water-ways for boat/guided boat, walking paths, and most prominently, centuries-old thatched-roof houses. Bushes of plants to make the thatched roof can be seen in the waterways. That was the information told to us by the guide.
We had an informative guided tour in Giethoorn. Giethoorn is an amazing beautiful place.
