Worst waiter I’ve had in Amsterdam, no smile, rude,.. the parrot would have done a better job. PS: the food was good though

It's a bit hard to find if your not coming in off the train platform. But the food was excellent, the decor was lovely. Just beware of the Finnish stew! The pot they send out holds a deceptively large amount, definitely a dish to share.

Very nice aristocratic interior and delicious main courses and desserts. Also cool view on trains or on the city improves the impression. Very good

The below mentioned waiter is legit, unfortunately we had also the chance to get his very underrated service. First of all, he doesn’t say a word, not even pretending to be nice with the guests. He should be playing with his grandchildren at home and give chances to the new generation, who has more enthusiasm. Talking about the 4 courses menu. 1.) we have chosen a salmon salade, which was good, but serving it took like 45 min. 2.) soup of the day - We have asked our ‘lovely’ waiter, what is the surprise soup and then he said : Curry. Ok, we took the risk and gave all of our trust to this dish. When it arrived and we had tasted it… Just imagine a super salty, instant Knorr, Maggie soup. After 1 mouthful, it was more than enough and then I have decided giving a bad review already… 3.) After waiting more than an hour for our main course, finally a chef of a kitchen staff brought it saying sorry at least. It was a burger and grilled salmon with fries and a small portion of salade on the side. It was tasty, however the fried were not fresh, probably heated up in the microwave. 4.) Dessert: Siberian omelette & lemon meringue pie Waiting time was acceptable, the sweets were also delicious. Summarizing our dinner; the place looks hight-end, nice, classy interior, well-maintained, however food is within comfort zone, nothing new or creative. Service and long waiting time makes the whole experience bad, which is a pity. The restaurant was completely full during our stay and the food arrived always at the same time, but people were mainly just waiting for the next. Spending there 3 hours in total for 4 courses is not worth it.

Bought the 3 course meal through Get Your Guide. Worth every penny. The Smoked Salmon Salad was delicious. The flavors blended beautifully. The Sirloin with Stroganoff sauces was perfect. And the Chocolate cake was amazing. The staff was wonderful and the dining room was uncrowded and had a great atmosphere. Don't miss this gem of a restaurant hidden upstairs in the City Central Station.

Cool place with kind staff but the meat (carpaccio and beefsteak) here is very tasteless and dry. It literally had no taste. My partner had fish and he enjoyed the fish. Their understanding of Gluten free is very limited, they constantly were unsure about whether certain food contained gluten or not. There were 0 options for dessert except fruit. Would not recommend any celiac to go here. Vegans will also have limited - maybe even 0- options. They do have gluten free bread though.

Great staff, food is great, prices above average, but the taste makes that ok, so enjoy the food there

I think this is restaurant is such a gem. It's hidden in plain site at central station. It's a very big restaurant but with such character with the traditional decor. We saw so many cute older couples having lunch here. And rhe price is very reasonable for Amsterdam.
