S	Shelley Sacks on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very friendly and capable staff. A great pleasure to stay there. Very good location and elevator. Excellent bathroom. Mattresses much too soft. Pillows too hard. Beautiful features here and there in the interior, like the spiral stair and the glass dome. But corridors rather tacky style as well as the bedrooms. But very clean and well serviced. They said they are refurbishing - could be stunning, but then price will probably go up. Fine to stay there if you don't mind a bit of confused style in the corridors and bedrooms.

It was a big room with a great bathroom; the shower and spa tub were great. The view from our room mostly consisted of the office building across the street. I will come back next time I'm in Haarlem.

However the ambiance of the place is particularly special, the bar is also beautiful with Art Deco features that will have you reaching for your camera! The staff were friendly and attentive and the drinks were delicious and served in style, not overpriced either. A delightful place to visit bursting with wonderful design and an architectural gem! Very highly recommended.

The bed matress was a bit soft, but I did not have any trouble sleeping on it. Also there was a bit of noise from the street during the night, but it did not keep me awake The staff changed bedsheets extraordinarily when my girlfriend requested it (bedsheets are probably only changed at guest change)

Only the downside is very big noise comes from neighboring bar/nightclub, which lasted until 4 am while I stayed. I could barely sleep with that. Hope this noise issue will be well solved soon.

BUT not everything that shines is gold, waking up next morning I found rashes in my skin from what I believe was bedbugs. I called them to tell them about it next day the receptionist was as polite as possible but I asked her not to call my husband who paid for the rooms as a birthday gift. I did not want him to feel bad, but I told her to don't bother him because he is in his working week and gave her my phone number . I never heard from them until my husband told me a week after, why is the Amarath hotel calling me? :( A week after the bites are healing but it was itchy and swollen and paining whole week. They told my husband they did not find any bugs but he also had bites on that next morning we stayed there. Just his were less. location is very good breakfast is like being at a school cafeteria. Everything is a do it yourself even coffee, unattended buffet, they are so busy they offered coffee to the table next to us ad skipped us. You can see the busy manager close to collapse cuz they seemed understaffed for a busy sunday.
