Grand Hotel Huis ter Duin - Kon. Astrid Boulevard 5

Went over the weekend for a mini staycation and had the best time! The room was so incredibly spacious and clean and had the most amazing view overlooking the sea. The buffet breakfast is really good!! Very impressed with how they have adapted to COVID measures but still keeping the warmth of hospitality. Excellent location, just steps away from the beach. Highly recommend!!!

We had a lovely stay but I was surprised at the cleanliness of the room for a so called 5* hotel. The staff were lovely on reception and the breakfast staff made a lovely birthday breakfast basket which was a really nice touch. Though I wouldn't pay for the breakfast next time as it's not worth the price. The view and beach were of course great. Since the hotel was so quiet and has been for the last year I was surprised how dirty the room was. The bed and bathroom seemed to have been cleaned though there was a stain on the decorative cushion which was disgusting. The carpet had bits all over it. Including some old heart confetti from a past stay which wasn't nice to see. The curtains and door had marks on them and the terrace was full of dried bird poop including all over the table and seats making it impossible to sit down unless I cleaned it myself. And everything was just a bit dusty/dirty and just generally a bit rundown. Not 5* at all. I hilariously ended up cleaning down the balcony and surfaces myself (though unfortunately there wasn't a hoover). I would have complained, but I could see that clearly the cleaner had seen the room and thought it was OK so it seemed like more hassle than it was worth. Plus I'd have to clean another room and we were only staying 1 night. Also the amenities and the layout of the rooms are not up to standard at all. The nespresso and kettle on the table don't look great and the massive chair that doesn't fit properly in the room doesn't make sense. The bathroom is just old and even the shower seal on the bottom was falling off. Everything's just dated and rundown and needs rethinking or redecorating.

Booked for one night but decided to extend my stay this week! Friendly and professional staff, very clean, great sea view. Great breakfast in room and room serviced dinner. I agree with other reviews that the décor is a bit dated, would be nice to touch it up with some brighter colours, although the brown tones do well with the sunset. We had some questions regarding breakfast and room serviced dinner choices, and the reception was helpful and checked everything with the kitchen. The seafood platter was great! Will return there again for sure. Some trainee employees weren't always great with English communication but were very helpful, I imagine they'll be wonderful once they're done with their traineeship!

Great location, nice seaside view from the 8th floor large charming room type, staff super friendly and breakers beach house is great to relax and eat. But the room is dated, especially the bathroom where the picture on the website is totally inaccurate (they probably renovated some rooms but it is not what we got). Five star hotel is accurate for the friendly staff and location, but for the dates room and service/quality it is four star. In Noordwijk it’s probably the best place to stay, mainly for the location and easy/private access to the beach & restaurant. We will definitely return for Breakers beach house restaurant as we go several times per year.

Not bad but also not good (in regards of our experience). Came check in a bit late, so they only have room service food. Majority of it was only pizza. Quite pricey for a not tasty pizza. It came undercooked, plate hot, but part of pizzas not. But i guess it was the receptionist that cook for us (maybe heat them up using microwave) since also it's him that brought the food to our room. Probably during pandemic, they shorten the staffs idk, but i hope during normal days, the taste of room service food are not as bad as what we have had. Room was ok, but the shower constantly hot-cold all the times, so annoying. Internet also very very slow! Hotel looks grande and posh but yeah.. Actually i want to rate only 3.5 Star, since Google doesn't allow me, then 4 Star it is. The view to the beach was amazing (you could say that alone save the review)
