★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Heibrug (Bridge 4) is a road bridge that spans the Singel between Heisteeg and Wijde Heisteeg. The original bridge was built in the 17th century when the city expanded west of the Singel to connect the west bank to the city center. This wooden structure was replaced with iron in 1798, with the final and existing version being constructed about 1900.
