A large or oldest or village church in Numansdorp is the NH Kerk on Torenstraat. I noticed a number of things. On this google maps site is of course the NH Kerk, with only a single photo, one of which, large, of an ambulance. What does that have to do with the church, while there is hardly anything to see from the inside of the church. Then I look at the reviews of this church, there was only one and it is about screws, bolts for sale, what does that mean. That is why I try to report something about this church through a normal review, although I am certainly not an expert. What strikes me about the church is that it is very 'narrow' in the street, in itself a narrow, small street, but the church is right on the road, perhaps even on the road via the land registry. It really isn't a beautiful place. Furthermore, the church is not very old, it does not date from the Middle Ages. As a church building founded in 1647 in the Numanspolder embanked in 1642 because the oldest craftsmanship Cromstrijen founded in 1566 at Claeswael became too small and the distance became too great, because in 1602 the polder Nieuw-Cromstrijen and in 1625 the polder Groot-Cromstrijen were embanked. The new village of Cromstrijen founded after 1642 received the name Buitensluis. It was the third lock within these grounds: the Oudesluis, the Middelsluis and now the Buitensluis. The first stone of the new church was laid on March 26, 1647 by Geerit Gijsberts Schilperoort, Willem Cornelisz Boender and Pieter Jansz Goutswaert, being the sons of the first three church masters of the newly built church. The first stone disappeared before May 2, 1781 when the current church tower was built instead of the dilapidated tower from 1647/1648 that was so dilapidated in 1780 that he could have collapsed with a storm. The church was slightly enlarged with this tower construction. On the southeast side of the exterior of the church, you can see where the sandstone frame runs above the windows and further wall work. And that is pretty much the origin of the church. Obviously, the church has experienced some disasters, the war, the flood, there have been damages, but extensive restorations have taken place of the church building 2013-2014, and the monumental organ January - June 2018. The inventory includes a pulpit with arch panels. , 17th century and copper lectern. Baptismal gate with baptismal arch, 17th century.
