Lekker eten in een ongedwongen sfeer, daar houden we van bij Hete Kolen. Niet voor niets is ons restaurant al jaren een begrip in Amersfoort: een gezellige no-nonsense bistro met sfeervolle open keuken, waar onze chef en zijn team met liefde en vakmanschap de smakelijkste gerechten voor je bereiden. Na een flinke verbouwing, waarbij het aantal zitplaatsen is uitgebreid en onze Josper barbecue versterking heeft gekregen van een stoer fornuis, mogen we eindelijk weer open! Graag ontvangen we je in ons vernieuwde restaurant, voor een smakelijke en onbezorgde avond zoals je die van ons gewend bent.

Staff was nice, prices are according to the quality.

Took my wife there for a dinner and she wanted to go back for lunch, so worth adding to your short list of restaurants to always eat at in Amersfoort! Hope they grow there size (into next door empty space) and keep the quality going! Definately for a night out or a special date.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We loved the atmosphere, the dessert (cheese and chocolate overload) and I loved the wine! The cheese was very well balanced in flavours. The starter (platter #1) and the ribs (Spicy and BBQ) and Asian bavette (chefs special) were a bit underwhelming. I expected the meat to be a bit juicier, a bit more smokey and a bit more saucy/sticky. It wasn't bad but it was a bit blend in our opinion. I felt that what was supposed to be their specialty was good but not amazing and what I expected to be good and not great as it wasn't their specialty was pretty amazing. I think at least using a bit more sauce / marinade might make a huge difference.
