 Nice place for a good lunch and dinner. Nice terrace in the sun. Excellent service.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Gegeten in het restaurant en o- wat viel dit tegen.
1. Brood vooraf was verbrand. Tip: maak het broodrooster goed schoon want het brood had de smaak van verkoolde resten.
2. Belachelijke porties vlees. Dit kan anno 2022 echt niet meer. Complete verspilling en heeft ook niks meer met lekker eten te maken.
3. Vlees was tevens aangebrand. Smaakte af en toe naar verbrandde stukken
4. Vreemde smaakcombinaties. Overdaad aan balsamico azijn bij bepaalde gerechten en inspiratieloze sla/salade.
Mensen waren overigens wel vriendelijk, maar culinair zwaar onder de maat (sorry!)
Dined in the restaurant and oh- how disappointing this was.
1. Bread beforehand was burnt. Tip: clean the toaster well because the bread had the taste of charred residue.
2. Ridiculous portions of meat. This is no longer possible in 2022. Complete waste and has nothing to do with good food anymore.
3. Meat was also burnt. Tasted like burnt pieces at times
4. Strange flavor combinations. An abundance of balsamic vinegar with certain dishes and uninspired lettuce/salad.
By the way, people were friendly, but culinary was way below average (sorry!)

We've been to all the islands and stayed in the best hotels on each, but Schier is definitely our favorite island and this is our favorite hotel and restaurant. Longtime Maitre'd and now owner Bart is a fantastic host and a consummate professional. We always look forward to our stays here...highly recommended!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Comfortable rooms with nice interior design and great hot shower! The hotel is perfectly located for the village and has a really nice restaurant downstairs. We enjoyed both dinner and the breakfast, delicious food and friendly staff. We also borrowed some bikes and had a great day exploring the island.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We were moved on short notice to a different place without adequate compensation (bottle of wine if you pay for a whole dinner at their place is a joke).
The room we received was in bad condition and super noisy.
Wouldn’t recommend this place and in terms of customer service, as we just felt dumped to a different location and the Brakzand host was not caring at all about our troubles afterwards.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We ate lunch there, my meal was terrible. The menu was VERY VEGETARIAN UNFRIENDLY . I asked for a cheese sandwich as there was no vegetarian sandwich on the menu. When it arrived it was just a piece of bread with two slices of dry cheese. It could have been garnished with salad. I would no recommend this cafe to anyone, terrible.
