★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Check the opening of the kitchen... the website shows open until 2200. Kitchen closed on 2030. Fortunately there was a lovely lady who was willing to help out. She deserves 5 stars

the service employees were very slow and we had to ask several times for drinks.
After asking for the menu, they handed us a german dinnermenu. Also the drinks we already drunk, stood the whole evening on the table.
We also ordered food like spare ribs, salad, codfish and chips.
The fish had no taste and the spare ribs where all over flabby... disgusting!
And the highlight of the evening was the price...
for 8 people without ordering appetizer or even dessert, was approximatly about 240€, really a demanding!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Our experience at De Vrouwe van Stavoren was not great - maybe we were unlucky or arrived at a difficult moment (at the end of a busy breakfast). We wanted to have a coffee but were not welcomed by anyone even after some wait. Finally after asking and being allowed to sit down, nobody came to take our order even though waitresses passed by. In the end we decided to leave (and had our coffee in Koudum).

The big wine barrel was great, it had a beautiful bathroom with a very nice shower, a pretty room with a comfortable couch to sit and a very cute sleeping room with a nice bed. The barrel part reminded me a bit of a Hobbit house. I really liked the fact that when you open the door of your room you are immediately outside. The food was nice and the staff was very friendly. It is a very charming hotel in a lovely town and just around the corner of the train station.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ My boyfriend and I had booked a room for one night. The area was really nice and the room in the ‘Wijnvat’ too. The big problem was the heater didn’t work very well which mean we slept in a very cold room (15 degrees the morning after). We both slept with our clothes - not really nice and it apparently ruined our experience. So sad because we really liked the rest of the room. We told the hotel receptionist about the issue but no reaction.
