Lovely terrace on the waterside with great staff and ambiance. Didn't eat there in the evening but the breakfast was very good. 80 euros for a double cell and 9.50 p.p for breakfast was a true value of our stay.
G	Gerardus Vriend on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ At 10pm 1/2 way into our stay we get a phone call that they are going to renovate our room. First of all they notify us late at night and after hours which I believe is not right. Then I informed them that we do not like them to inconvenience our stay and that we do not like construction workers to enter while our belongings were in the room. That to us is an invasion of our privacy. Third of all they offered us to pack up everything and that they would lock it up in another room for us. That too did not sit well with us. We were going to be gone all day and not return till 3 or 4 am the following morning. For us to pick up our belongings and return to our room at that hour is not acceptable as we would want to go directly to sleep as we have another busy day ahead of us. I waited for a return call from them which never came so my wife and I went down to the lobby and protested. Yes I was a bit perturbed. We were then informed that no one would enter our room. We will wait and see. This ordeal has turn a great stay up until that time and this incident has just destroyed any good opinions that is left of our stay in Hoorn. How could a hotel think that can just violate a contract or even think they can just invade someone's privacy without adequate notice or compensation.
