Mixed bag with the staff. Vonni was a delight. Very accommodating and a wash with that cheeky Dutch humour I’d heard about, she’d literally bust you out of prison if you asked! Gertie on the other hand was disagreeable to say the least. It was as if our stay was an inconvenience, somewhat ironic baring in mind the business runs as a result of our custom. She quite literally guessed our bill when we left, due to an archaic ordering system at the bar which meant staff members had no way of communicating previous bar bills. The breakfast was as disappointing as my friends logistical skills (driving to DΓΌsseldorf to pick us up from the airport, despite us touching down in Eindhoven). Overall I would recommend staying in Maastricht and getting stuck into some Guinness at John Mullins Irish pub. Ask for Neville, he will treat you like kings, something Gertie would do well to emulate

By far my favorite stay in the Netherlands! Hotel Vroenhof is set in a cosy picturesque valley countryside. The staff and owners are on site round the clock and very friendly!! The food is delicious!!

WORST HOTEL I HAVE EVER STAYED IN! Due to work within the local area, I made the mistake of staying in this hotel for a period of time and initially recommended it to my colleagues. That recommendation has now become a warning to others. As a paying customer, one would expect a friendly, warm and welcoming place to return to each day. This was quite the opposite. Ironically, the hotels' attributes and staffs good efforts were completely let down by the hostile, incredibly rude behaviour and mannerisms of the owner (Gertie). It was if her customers own presence was a waste of her time. Not once was a minimum level of hospitality reached. Even small gestures were completely absent such as: 'How was your stay with us?', 'can we do anything for you?' and showing gratitude after receiving her customers money. Instead, a consistency of incompetence regarding addition and subtraction to produce a simple bill/invoice was present. When my colleagues/ hotels customers asked too see an invoice, the owner simply ignored this request, failed to produce any sort of paperwork, became frustrated, and resorted to quite literally calling her own customers 'Idiots'! Although this was surreal and amusing to witness, it was however unnecessary and reflective of other things to come. Money was demanded from customers (including myself) who had not even stayed in the hotel on dates in which the owner stated. After raising this issue, expecting a moment of clarity from her.... it only led to more hostility. This resulted in me vowing to never provide another single cent to line her pockets and my pleasurable, permanant departure from the hotel. One day it may be realised, that a bad reputation goes a lot further than a good one. Rooms: The rooms bedding is changed frequently. That is about the only point which resembles a normal hotel. Bring your coats and preferably a survival guide to hyperthermia - the rooms are freezing! The radiators are for decoration it seems. The lights which were attached to the wall with tape. On your way up to the rooms via the restaurant, you can enjoy a lovely aroma of sewage as you pass by the toilets and the kitchen. Bar area: The bar is run by a friendly bunch of girls who brightened up the mood during this stay. I would like to particularly mention 'Vonni', who was always a delight! If only this personable attitude was taken on my by the owner, their efforts would not have been squandered. Parking: There is free, enclosed parking at the back of the hotel. In conclusion: Don't waste your money, go to Maastricht.

this place is not a good place to stay. rude owners, cockroaches in the rooms, mice in the kitchen. the owner came into my room knowing i was inside. if they fail to respect customers privacy then they shouldnt be in the hospitality business. they double charge for rooms and refuse to give refunds when questions on issues with billing, receipts etc. the cleaning staff were friendly enough but i wouldnt stay there again even if deperate. im better off staying in my campervan, even in winter when its snowing

We paid €87.50 per person for the room, which was clean, but too warm. Shower was miserable, either too hot or too cold. Breakfast was only okay. Would not recommend this to anyone. Too expensive for what we got. I mean €175 for a double room. Overpriced
