★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great food, high quality. The owners are nice and friendly. They do everything for you. When you want something out of the menu, you can order it and if its possible, they will make it for you. Otherwise, you can order it before. We come here for over the 14 years and we still come back!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Mom-and-Pop style Korean food in an unexpected location. The owners are super friendly, and the food is the most authentic Korean experience I had so far (and I tried many places in NL). They even gave my girlfriend a box of chocolates when we celebrated her birthday there!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very tasty Korean food across the board - between the 4 of us we had kimchi pancakes, japchae, kimchi stew, soft tofu stew, and jjajjangmyeon - YUM! The service was excellent - friendly and genuine interactions made us feel at home :D The side dishes (banchan) are included in the price and you also get free top-ups for both the banchan and the rice - just like in Korea :) We'll definitely be coming back, despite the 40 minute cycle ride! We'll have to have the galbi, ssamgyeopsal, and kimchi fried rice next time...

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ After our 2nd time eating at Hwa Won, it's certain- absolutely everything there is excellent! From the friendly, very personal service to the stickiest, crunchiest spicy fried chicken (a must!) to even just the little side dishes and to definitely the stews, bbq and rice dishes- I repeat, everything is excellent. Authentic, fresh and great quality ingredients. I really can't stress enough how blown away we were both times. Will now be adding this restaurant to our list of favorites and go-to places.

A little bit on the pricier side (would definitely go more often if it was a little cheaper - perhaps a lunch menu for take-out for smaller budget would be cool), but value for money is still okay. Especially loved the Yangyeom Chicken (fried chicken in sweet and spicy sauce). Galbi Tang portion could have been slightly larger, whereas the Bulgogi was good. Nice side dishes too.
