 In 1950, Evert Willem Beth founded the Institute of Logic and Philosophy of the exact sciences. He initiated the nascent computer science at the institute. Around 1970, this institute was reorganized into the Interfacultaire Vakgroep Logica (interdisciplinary group of logic), encompassing both mathematical and philosophical logic, which attracted a new generation of students interested in new interfaces of linguistics and theoretical informatics.
In 1991, received the official name "Institute of Logic, Language and Computing"

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a great time here! Inside there's a room they call the 'Master of Logic' room: they keep it permanently staffed with people who can help with any logistics problems. (I think they might even have a direct phone number you can call for that room, but I can't find it online.)
