★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Deze Kijkhut heeft een hoefijzervorm en is overdekt maar niet helemaal water- en winddicht. Hij staat op een verhoging en kijkt uit over het deel van de Korendijkse Slikken dat niet toegankelijk is voor wandelaars. Zo kom je er:
Ongeveer 300m voorbij het klaphek van wandelparkeerplaats Spuimonding Oost, over een dijkje, is een vogelkijkhut van waaruit je uitzicht hebt over het beschermde vogelgebied Spuimonding Oost (Dit gebied zelf is niet toegankelijk voor wandelaars).
Verder langs de dijk, bij de 2 Bosman windmolens, ligt een bruggetje waarover je in de Korendijkse Slikken komt. Rechts aanhouden loopt langs het Spui naar de Kijkterp, dan naar deze hoefijzer vormige Kijkhut en verder naar de brug. Tussen de Kijkhut en de brug is een tweede route deels over de slikken, maar die kan afgesloten zijn als er veel vogels zijn (broed seizoen, maar ook overwinterende vogels).
Vanaf de molentjes kun je dezelfde weg terug, maar je kan ook rechts langs de brede sloot richting de dijk lopen.
Paden zijn goed te belopen, kunnen modderig zijn. Geen laarzen nodig. Er staan wegwijzers in het gebied, maar de route is eenvoudig. Totaal ongeveer 3,8km. Er is geen korte weg die direct naar de Kijkhut leidt.
This Kijkhut has a horseshoe shape and is covered but not completely waterproof and windproof. It stands on an elevation and overlooks the part of the Korendijkse Slikken that is not accessible to hikers. This is how you get there:
About 300m past the swing gate of the Spuimonding Oost hiking car park, over a dike, is a bird hide from which you have a view of the protected bird area Spuimonding Oost (This area itself is not accessible to hikers).
Further along the dike, near the 2 Bosman windmills, is a bridge over which you enter the Korendijkse Slikken. Keep right and walk along the Spui to the Kijkterp, then to this horseshoe-shaped Kijkhut and further to the bridge. Between the Kijkhut and the bridge there is a second route partly over the mudflats, but it can be closed if there are many birds (breeding season, but also wintering birds).
From the windmills you can return the same way, but you can also walk right along the wide ditch towards the dike.
Paths are easy to walk, can be muddy. No boots needed. There are signposts in the area, but the route is easy. Total about 3.8 km. There is no shortcut that leads directly to the Kijkhut.
