It's an affordable place to eat, but don't expect grand portions or overly knowledgeable staff. When their menu claims they cater to special diets, well they don't really understand that very well. Low carb shouldn't be a salad drowning in dressing that largely consists of carrots and croutons! When asked if certain things contained milk, they were 100% out of their realm of knowledge. So while it's a great atmosphere on a budget, if you have special diet needs, skip Le Journal.

Been there for lunch today. Ordered an omelette, came twice raw. I have been there in the past, and dinner was always nice, however today I found it appalling the lack of care they displayed. When I informed them that the omelette was raw, instead of making a new one they simply re-put the same on fire, and when it came the second time to the table it had become scrambled eggs, and was still raw. They didn't care, didn't pass to ask if it was good, and in the end made us pay for it. Extremely rude behaviour, poor service. I will never go there again. Pity.

If you want a place where they don't care about customers then have I got the place for you! This place offers such great entertainment like: -Grabbing a plate back from the table to redistribute food unto other plates. The nerve! -Not serving a spoon when delivering the soup: hilarious! -The "mixed grill" is just 3 small nuggets of meat (not much bigger than a MacNugget). But as added value they completely overcook it all. It takes some skill to just ruin 3 different pieces of meat at the same time. Bravo! -Staff that just ignores you or blatantly disrespects you when complaining about food, that takes some commitment! And for the low price of 14,50 you too can have your eating experience ruined by this establishment. 1/10: would only recommend when you really want to be let down.

Summary: Dirty, bad food, rude staff. The venue itself: This place is the definition of grimy. There are thick layers of dust caked on various surfaces, for example the glass balls on strings that are hanging right next to the dining tables are grey with a big coat of dust. The floor is made of rubber mats covering up what appear to be holes. Watch your step since you can sometimes suddenly feel the floor give way below you. The bathroom, at least the men's room, is in one word disgusting. Drying your hands must be done with a single small dishrag that used to be green but by now was steadily approaching a dark brownish color. I fear for the hygienic standards held by the kitchen staff if this is how their customers are expected to remain clean. The food: This place calls itself cheap but in the end it's really not. Their 'Mixed Grill' for example carries an extra fee to be ordered on top of their regular dinner menu. It consists of three chicken-nugget sized pieces of overcooked meat, delivered on a plate that is far too big in what seems to be a desperate attempt to give the food an air of classiness. The tomato soup tasted like it was store-bought and heated up. It was not completely disgusting, though for a 'large' tomato soup costing 5 euros I do expect more soup than what I got, which was the equivalent of a hearty mug of cup-a-soup. The staff: After waiting 15 to 20 minutes for someone to finally get to our table to take our order, we finally got some drinks. It took another 15 to 20 minutes to get the starters finally out. My soup did not come with a spoon to eat it. Getting the attention of the staff was nearly impossible. Even with servers walking by our table (in an otherwise mostly empty restaurant) and being vocally called, they ignored us. I recommend investing in hearing aids for the wait staff. In the end I had to get up, walk to the bar, and get my own spoon. Not really how restaurant staff should take care of their customers. So in short: Unless you like paying more, for less, avoid this place.

The servers were kind, but seemed extremely rushed despite it not being busy. There also was an issue with the food ordered and was taken back to the kitchen, but wasn't returned satisfactory. The mixed grill had small portions, and the steak was like leather. Would not recommend eating here. Just sitting for drinks is the better option.

Cappuccino okayish. but very Bad Tomato Soup made out of powder like the automat

While waiting on the bus I enjoyed a glass of beer and snacks.
