★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ever since La maison de Sophie has opened it's doors, for me it has been the place to be for fashion, birthday presents, baby shower presents (cute little sheep onesies!) or just some sweet cat cuddles. Sophie is always very friendly and helpful and a star in finding unique, local and affordable items. A true source of inspiration!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It’s a cute store with some interesting pieces. Unfortunately the two things I bought here (scarf and blouse) were not good quality and cheaply made for the price I paid for it. I would not recommend the clothes selection here, they are overpriced for where they were sourced. However, the home made plants and decorations do look interesting - and there is super adorable cat who lives there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Update: I am not sure what you are talking about. I never cuddled any cats, nor do I have problems with people in this neighbourhood – I don’t even know anybody there. I live abroad and come for visits to Amsterdam every once in a while. What a hateful and weird comment. But it confirms our experience and it shows we are not the only ones who made bad experiences. My last one is only a few days old and since it happened several times I got really upset and left a review. Symptomatic reaction. As for my friend: She did come by to return the earrings and get her money back but that was refused. If that is the best you can, it is not good enough for us. -|-
I love to visit Amsterdam as often as I can, exploring new shops and more. This one here used to be a cute place to visit as a start or end point due to its location with a nice atmosphere until the owner lumped together with a horribly unfriendly woman. Fake smiles and cheap products all over that place now. She really scaled down with that step. The famous lemonade for example is tasteless water with sugar. She might sell more now, but the good spirit is gone and with it the ethics, even though I am wondering if the latter ever really existed. A friend of mine made similar experiences. She wanted to return earrings that broke in no time. Return policy was a joke plus the attitude coming along. I wouldn’t recommend that shop unless you‘re in for the very random cheap boring concept store items you will find everywhere.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely loved this shop, so glad I found it. Lovely ambience for shopping and super cute clothes. Bought several items at a very fair price. Found a gift for a friend too - their jewellery is lovely. I particularly liked that many items are 'one size', as I'm so tired of not fitting clothes when weight fluctuates. Was also great to see that most items are Sweatshop free. Sophie was really friendly too.
