★ ★ ★ ★ ★ had a very unpleasant experience returning some rental bikes, would never use again..also the tip jar that claims "a justin beiber fan dies every time u tip" is a bit out of line considering they were listening to some really corny music both times i was there. ..next time i rent bikes for friends will consider using a place like star bikes (who have much better rates and bikes as well)
in response- my review wasn't based on the music taste of your employees, but rather the overall negative experience of dealing with your company, I guess being such a large chain, with 5 locations, it shouldn't come as surprise that the service was impersonal and catered to getting the most money out of tourists

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I came with my bike to get an evaluation of the repair costs.
One guy gave me one, specifically mentioning the different 3 or 4 subparts of the total costs according to what needs to be done or replaced.
The only price he wrote down on the receipt was the total price, receipt which he gave me a copy of before I left.
When I came back to pick my bike, the repair invoice (apparently drafted by another guy, the one who supposedly repaired my bike) mentioned the various subparts of the repair, but the price for each of these were way below the prices given to me when I handed my bike in. They had "casually" inflated the "Miscellaneous" section at the bottom of the invoice to match the total price agreed on beforehand.
In other words, they rip you off. I trusted them because I know a friend working there. Never again will I hand in my bike there for repairs.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Today myself and some friends went to macbike to hire bikes for the day. We were very disappointed by the two women who served us at the Waterlooplein store. While looking for bikes I received no help in choosing a bike that was fitted for me, as I am very small in size the bikes on the lowest seat setting were still too high for me.
They gave me no assistance whatsoever and when asked if they had smaller bikes they replied rudely 'no' then continued chatting amongst themselves. As I didn't feel comfortable nor could I reach my leg over the bike properly, I told them that I no longer wished to rent a bike for safety reasons. I explained to them the reason and one staff member responded rudely saying that I could fit on the bike but 'fair enough' that I didn't feel comfortable. I was disgusted and felt extreamly upset leaving the store. Being a tourist in such a beautiful city I think this situation could have been handled differently and in a more polite and professional manner. Please make sure your staff are aware of this for future customers.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Super unfriendly staff. There was a big rain and I got a flat tire, I arrived at this place at 17-30 and staff said they are not going to help me because they are closing in 30 minutes. I smelled chocolate and alcohol, apparently, they have already started celebrating New Year.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a very unpleasant experience yesterday in the shop. Unfriendly staff with unkind attitude.
Went into the shop for repair (just to put the chain back on) at 17:35 and they told me they cannot put back the chain cos they are closing soon (in 25min). I had a baby on the baby seat, just made it to the shop dragging the bike and they told me the earliest they can repair is 11am the next day..
As mentioned I had a baby on the baby seat and that was my only way to take him home (couldn't carry him all the way home) so I had to push back my bike back home...
Terrible experience with very rude staff.. He had no intention to help me whatsoever..!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Didn't solve the issue and charged full price. Mechanic tried to get me out of the store before I noticed his bad work. I ended up asking for a tool and fixing it myself. I stayed friendly, mechanic was rude and wouldn't even say goodbye when I left. I have had lots of good experiences here but I won't be back.
