★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The owners have unfortunately been very unfriendly. You have only a shared bathroom. The house is used privately and there seem to be only two rooms. You can't call it a hotel.

Check In only between 2pm and 6pm... If you arrive to the city after 6pm, you lose the night. 21 century hasn't arrived here

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The location is just perfect, it's right in the center of Amsterdam, 3 min from the Dam Square, in front of the canal, next to multiple bars with by-the-water seatings. The stairs are steep, but it's just like every where else in this city. The reception is nice and friendly. The room small but tidy and very comfy. The (shared) bathroom is very clean, and we didn't have any problem using it when we wanted. One (little) negative point : our room is on the street side, so quite noisy with the window open. With the window closed, most of the noise is blocked out and it didn't bother our sleep at all, but if you have very light sleep, you should consider it.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Had a wonderful stay at Manikomio - very clean and comfortable. The owners are very friendly and hospitable. Very reasonable price for the location. The shared bathroom is beautiful, and there is food, coffee and a fridge available in the kitchen. Tucked away between two shops, the location is excellent, it's a few paces away from Dam Square, and there are plenty of places to eat nearby. The room itself is up 2 flights of stairs, and as such is so quiet, it's easy to forget that you're so close to the hustle and bustle of the city. Would recommend staying here, and would stay here again.
