About MasMais
MasMais started as a BBQ with friends in the park. After a succesful pop-up adventure the time had come for a permanent spot. A next-generation taqueria and bar in Amsterdam-West!
We make our tacos with the best spices and chilies, marinades, salsas and secrets. Cooked up and served at the bar. Not hungry yet? You are just as welcome to come enjoy the music, a drink and some good company.

β β β β β This is a great Mexican restaurant. Authentic in some places like homemade tortillas, chips, salsas, and our favorite taco was more fusion with pumpkin as the main ingredient. We also had margaritas and palomas with mezcal which were amazing.

β β β β β So, two Dutch guy trying to cook Mexican? I prepared myself for the worst, expecting either a new burrito place or a fushion/vegan joint.
Fortunately, MasMais stands for excellent tacos, the ones that reminded me of Oaxaca, where they also took their inspiration from. They make their own tacos (!!!) in their basement and prepare them on the spot. If you ever had "real" tacos, you know this is the real thing!
The dishes are all full-flavoured, and I suggest choosing the whole menu and share it with your friend (not very covid proof but the hot sauce will probably kill the spikes).
Point of improvement? When I walked I missed the different kind of mexican sauces on the tables, but to be honest.. it's actually not needed..
PS I'd recommend having the Paloma cocktail, while I'm not a big fan of grapefruit, this was sooo good!

β β β β β Excellent food and service. Authentic Mexican tacos and quality ingredients. We had a large table and they were bale to accommodate us and tailored a menu for us. Can't forget to mention: they have the best margaritas in Amsterdam!

β β β β β This is without doubt the best tacos Iβve ever had in Europe! Homemade corn tortillas with excellent toppings. Margaritas are bomb as well. The staff is super friendly and you can tell they are passionate about making great tacos. I love this place and try to go here at least 1-2 times a month.

β β β β β Best tacos I've ever had. They have a small selection of very reasonably priced tacos, but each tastes completely different (all are really good). The pork one was my clear favourite. The drinks are also really nice with either tequila or mezcal and suit the food really well. Also the staff is super nice. It's an easy recommendation from me!

β β β β β Tasty authentic Mexican Tacos in Amsterdam! Top choices are the pumpkin, pulpo and specially the pork carnitas are a must. Friendly staff and overall nice atmosphere! Would love to see other options in the menu in the future but definitely will be back!

β β β β β Iβm very surprised with the good reviews that this mexican spot has. Itβs a great concept and the tortillas are homemade and very good! Thatβs where it endsβ¦ the tacos overall are super bland. A couple of good combinations that end up being disappointing. Those good tortillas are crying for bold flavours! Itβs a shame and I totally respect the hard work going into opening a restaurant but the tacos are not good enough. They could sell their tortillas though as they are pretty spot on. Maybe it will get better with time and I will be there to try it again!

β β β β β Well executed dishes, full of flavour and fresh and high quality ingredients. The corn flavoured wraps and tacos are incredible. Natural wine, craft beers and cocktails to accompany it too. Friendly service and cool tunes give it a nice vibe.
