Meatless District is a modern eatery that serves 100% plant-based dishes for brunch and dinner. The restaurants are located in the bustling Bilderdijkstraat, in the heart of ‘old west,’ close to the Jordaan and the second location is located in de Pijp.

We open every day for brunch, bar snacks and dinner, serving creative cocktails, vegan wines and other vegan delights all day to accompany the food.

MD’s mission is to provide a vibrant but cosy eating experience. The menu features a variety of comfort classics from around the world, as well as delicious seasonal salads and soups. Whether you are vegan, ‘vegan curious’ or following a plant-based diet, this restaurant offers animal product free food and drinks, that everyone can enjoy.

The dishes are prepared fresh daily, with many products made in house. Favourites on the menu are the smoked ‘salmon’ bagel, paella, courgette salad and vegan burgers.

Meatless District works closely with local producers, selecting quality vegan produce from Amsterdam. Featured on the menu are, vegan cheeses by Max & Bien, kimchi from oh na mi, smoked tofu from Franks smokehouse, Vørdings gin, and artisan, locally baked sourdough bread.

Community is a big part of the Meatless District’s brand ethos. The team consists of different cultures and energies, with one common goal to support the growth of the vegan scene.

Stay safe & healthy!

All our love, Cathalijne, Cil, Claire & crew

Food was great and nicely presented! Loved the spicy burger, I had to think about it twice before realising I wasn't eating real meat. Desserts looked amazing, service was good. Great place to check out if you are into vegan food, however bear in mind that this restaurant is on the pricey side!

I really wanted to like this place, being a fancy looking vegan establishment. However.. the food was just not good.. the β€œscallop” mushroom starter was very chewy and sour (and tiny) and the chicken in the Caesar salad was so hard to chew on, we left it to the side. :( I wouldn’t bring non-vegan friends here, IMO it doesn’t represent vegan food well. I gave it 3 stars cause the waiters were really nice and the place is pleasant to sit in.

My friend and I went to try the winter dinner menu. The cheese platter is a must have! The blue cheese and the goat cheese are so delicious and cheesy that I was blown away. The BBQ jackfruit bowl was a bit bland but the presentation was great and ingredients are healthy. The mushroom pasta is creamy and fragrant, I would recommend it. The place is modern and classy. Good dinner place!

I've been here a few times for dinners but so far my favorite has been the bloody Mary brunch. They have a nice selection of ingredients and the food menu is delicious. The interior is spacious with cozy seating. Check out their site or FB to find out when they have the next one

Just coming out of the place and I can't wait to share my excitement about this #vegan mesmerizing taste bomb. Escaping the crowds and usual suspects, this place offers unique cozy and relaxed athmosphere. It was a festival for all senses and extremely delicious. I can recommend it go anyone looking for a great experience and vegan food in Amsterdam. Also very tasty beer from Two Chefs Brewing and great selection of wines, hopefully I can get I recommend the scalops and the caviar. Prices are also really good for the high level of food that you get. Very friendly staff and service.

For Amsterdam standards this restaurant is actually quite nice. Food was quite good, not over the top but nice. Dessert a bit of a let down, maybe too simple preparation, nothing crazily better than what you could get at a cafe or even make at home. service was kind and not too slow (again, so much better than the average in Amsterdam.). Overall I recommend trying it, always nice to see a 100% plant based restaurant

Ambiance was good but I didn’t like food at all. They’re so experimental. I tried nut roast as a main course. Kale at the bottom was not chewable and meat part didn’t remind me any kind of meat. There are lots of vegan restaurants in the town with reasonable price and tasty food. I hope they improve their menu and repices soon.

I came here late to have a quick dinner and I wasn’t disappointed. Overall all dishes were very tasty and even the Virgin Hugo Spritz was good, with alcohol free sparkling wine. I would rate it as quite expensive for what you get, especially when you are very hungry. Since I had a starter, a main and a dessert, I was full for 42€ (incl. the cocktail and a bottle of water). I had the King Oyster Scallops and the MD Caesar Salad. Especially the salad was very good, because they put a lot of fake chicken in there and the amount of sauce was just right. The Cheesecake was fluffy and obviously with raspberries it is a really good match. Would come again when I have the chance.
