★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent food, like a star restaurant. Service is amateurish. They are willing but rather unprofessional. Ambiance could better. when busy it's like sitting in a chicken coup. They really should thing about noise reduction measures.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Strong recommendation! I had dinner at several top fine dining places in all over europe. I would consider my expectations as very high. Nevertheless this spot in the small dutch town of medemblik remains a highligt. Food quality would be worth 17 or 18 points GM and two stars Michelin - in a really reasonable price range. In contrast to all other restaurants in this class, all of the staff remained really down to earth, heartwarming and very sympathic. The waitress translated the whole menu (dutch) for us. The chef himself offered to drive us home, bc there were no cabs available. Great experience, thank you!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An elegant and busy restaurant, attentive service, and gourmet food. If you are looking for a 5 course menu at fair prices this is the place (and much better value than in a big city) for a gourmet meal. The half lobster in three different dishes was superb, so was the venison (reindeer) and the filo pastry/ricotta dish. Wines were also very well matched and and fair prices. The menu was relatively small, and is not the place for steak and chips. The open kitchen shows the flair and confidence of the chefs. Highly recommended and we will for sure come back, it was a real treat.
