Vlak voor de groeve ligt de Mettenberggroeve I en op ongeveer 30 meter naar het zuidoosten ligt de Mettenberggroeve III. Op ongeveer 200 meter naar het zuidoosten ligt de Mettenberggroeve IV, op ongeveer 800 meter naar het zuidwesten ligt Mettenberggroeve V en op ongeveer 300 meter naar het noorden ligt de Bemelerbosgroeve II. Op ongeveer 150 meter naar het noorden ligt in het bos ook de Mariagrot.

Betreft waardevol cultuurhistorisch natuurgebied, gevaarlijk en niet toegankelijk terrein, foto's zijn jaren geleden genomen met drone. Foto's binnenkant groeve, komen uit oud archief.
 Metteberg quarry
Just before the quarry is the Mettenberg Quarry I and about 30 meters to the southeast is the Mettenberg Quarry III. About 200 meters to the southeast is the Mettenberg quarry IV, about 800 meters to the southwest is Mettenberg quarry V and about 300 meters to the north is the Bemelerbos quarry II. About 150 meters to the north is also the Maria Cave in the forest.

This is a valuable cultural-historical nature reserve, dangerous and inaccessible terrain, photos were taken years ago with a drone. Photos inside the quarry come from an old archive.
