β β β β β Mooie kerk aan de buitenkant. Hier langs gelopen tijdens het Geo cachen. Ik heb de informatie bordjes over de tijden en over de historie ook bij de foto's gedaan. Respect voor ieder die naar de Kerk gaat. Door Jezus Christus kunnen we gered worden. Zelf ga ik naar De kerk van Jezus Christus van de Heilige der laatste dagen. We doen veel aan genealogie. Wat voor iedereen interessant is.
Beautiful church on the outside. Walked here during the Geo caching. I also made the information signs about the times and about the history with the photos. Respect for everyone who goes to the Church. Through Jesus Christ we can be saved. I myself go to The Church of Jesus Christ of the Latter-day Saints. We do a lot of genealogy. What is interesting for everyone.

β β β β β This active church lies in the hart of old Rijswijk and is open on Saturdays. The church dates back to the 15th century.
It received a mechanical clock at the end 17th century.
The mechanical clock was removed in 1920's and is seen in the church.
It received a monument status since 1912.

β β β β β The church is open for visits on Saturdays. I stopped in and photographed a few interesting objects, including historical Bibles and the inside of the mechanism that ran the tower clock. Fascinating! A friendly church member explained the history of the building. It began as a Catholic Church built in the Romanesque style in the 1240s. Later it was transformed into a much bigger structure using Gothic features. There is a small window now covered with bricks. The window was opened to allow contagious lepers to listen to the church service without coming into contact with the worshippers. Today around one hundred or so people worship each Sunday. They also have organ and choir concerts.
