★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Nog een echt ouderwetse rokerij met heerlijke paling. Wij kwamen er per toeval terecht en daar hebben we nooit spijt van gehad. Heel vriendelijke eigenaar.
Another really old fashioned smokehouse with delicious eel. We ended up there by accident and we have never regretted it. Very friendly owner.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Bij van Veen een heerlijk broodje vers gerookte paling gegeten en zo lekker heb ik het niet eerder gegeten; de paling was niet te zout, niet te lang gerookt, en daardoor was de structuur van de vis nog intact, blijkt wel dat een mooie verse vis die vervolgens op de juiste manier behandeld wordt een ongelooflijk smaakvol resultaat oplevert!!
I ate a delicious sandwich with fresh smoked eel at Van Veen's and I have never eaten it that good; the eel was not too salty, not smoked for too long, and therefore the structure of the fish was still intact, it appears that a beautiful fresh fish that is then treated in the right way gives an incredibly tasty result !!

De winkel is eenvoudig met een mogelijkheid om buiten te zitten.
Delicious fresh eel and a very friendly owner who is willing to tell something about the eel (catch)
The store is simply a possibility to sit outside.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Was there as a tourist but I think maybe this place is more for the locals. From my perspective, the atmosphere could be a little more 'touristy' as the store itself was rather bland, but I guess this is just not what the owner is going for. The food (paling!) was really good and the owner was super friendly.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We went for a bike ride we went to get some home smoked eal to put on our sandwiches later today. Unfortunately the shop had burned down. The owner still had an extra place to smoke real and gave us a small tour. The smoked ram was amazing, very creamy, soft and so much better than the smoked eal I've had before.
