Mede dankzij de inzet van Venloosch Vastelaoves Gezelschap Jocus is het beeld weer terug. Het Venloosch Vastelaoves Gezelschap viert dit jaar zijn 176 jarig bestaan (16x11) en ziet het terugkeren van de Vreedzame Krijger als een verjaardagscadeau aan de Venlonaren. "Dit is fantastisch. De mensen in Venlo omarmden dit kunstwerk altijd. En het was de afgelopen drie jaar een lang gekoesterde wens om het kunstwerk weer terug te laten keren op de Maasboulevard", zegt Jocus-voorzitter Roel Versleijen. Kunstenaar Rik van Rijswick is verheugd dat zijn kunstwerk weer op devertrouwde plek in Venlo staat. De Vreedzame Krijger straalt volgens van Rijswick een boodschap uit waar de Venlonaren iets aan kunnen hebben. "Stop! Tot hier en niet verder! Dat is de boodschap die de Vreedzame Krijger heeft. Het moet de mensen doen beseffen dat je soms je grenzen wat duidelijker moet aangeven en wat meer tot rust moet komen", zegt de kunstenaar. The Peaceful Warrior is back in Venlo. The artwork has been returned to the Maasboulevard after more than three years of absence. Thanks in part to the efforts of Venloosch Vastelaoves Gezelschap Jocus, the image is back. The Venloosch Vastelaoves Gezelschap is celebrating its 176th anniversary (16x11) this year and sees the return of the Peaceful Warrior as a birthday present to the people of Venlo. "This is fantastic. The people in Venlo always embraced this work of art. And it has been a long-cherished wish for the past three years to return the work of art to the Maasboulevard," says Jocus chairman Roel Versleijen. Artist Rik van Rijswick is delighted that his work of art is back in the familiar place in Venlo. According to van Rijswick, The Peaceful Warrior radiates a message that can help the people of Venlo. "Stop! So far and no further! That's the message the Peaceful Warrior has. It should make people realize that sometimes you need to set your boundaries a little more clearly and relax a little more," says the artist.
