★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice food & beer place just side of the abbey, all La Trappe range on tap and bottle (oak aged only in bottle). You can hire a guided tour (English spoken on Saturdays) to visit the brewery, cheese factory and the old bakery. There is an official nearby shop with cheese, chocolate, glassware and other memorabilia. Worth the visit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A super passionate guide with rich knowledge and the best brewery restaurant I met.
As a foreigner , it is so special that this place combines the local community, religion and beers all together. Mostly importantly, they can show their history and spirit out in a very impressive way. What the guide told us in front of the garden, the idea of tolerance spread by the father, proves this brewery is truly lighted by belief. I've been to some other breweries in Germany and Austria. None of them could make me feel this brewery is "more than" a brewery.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Unique location, one of the few Trappist left in the world. Reserve in advance and go for the tour, or if you’re really want to experience the life here you can even stay the night but most of all enjoy the many great beers! Cheers! ?
Personal favorite is the quadruple, be warned of the high alcohol content.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a Monastery of the Trappiste Monks. The property it's beautiful and we'll care for. They have a restaurant, gift shop, Brewery and of course the Monastery. Groups of people come here from all over the world. The food is good and the beers are equally delicious. The prices are reasonable. It can be crowded at times depending on when you visit. I definitely say this is one place you should come visit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This is a wonderful place for good food and beer. No tour provided that I could find. Picked up some bottles of beer as souvenirs. The waitress was so friendly and polite it reminded me that the aloof attitude towards service is not everywhere in Europe. For a Trappist beer lover this place is a must.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excessively busy in a wonderful setting. Large tables may mean you share your space with strangers the beer was delicious and the food was OK. Even though they have beer infused items, thry don't taste very much different from similar items (like ribs) from other places.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Long before Pacific Northwest microbreweries, there were artisan monks who made beers like those served here. They're a bit sweet to my American taste, but still wonderful to sample -- or in some cases, swig.
