About Restaurant Achter De Poorte
Onze geschiedenis
In 1991 volgen Marco en Alie Bijl hun hart en starten restaurant Achter de Poorte in Elburg. Het echtpaar richt zich op een hoger segment dan de bestaande horeca in Elburg.
Dat doen ze succesvol, want binnen enkele jaren komen gasten uit de wijde omgeving naar het restaurant van de familie Bijl. Gasten genieten van de unieke gerechten van chef-kok Marco en de gastvrijheid van gastvrouw Alie. Ze weten met een klein team een huiselijke sfeer te creëren en de kwaliteit in de keuken constant hoog te houden. In 2018 doen Marco en Alie hun restaurant over aan dochter Natasja Bijl.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Tucked away behind the city wall in a small alley is this gem. I've been here several times over the years and the food and service are always great. Friendly hosts/hostesses make you feel welcome, and the food is original and of good quality. Great value for money, but not cheap. Reservation required most days.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The staff was professional and helpful, the food was good and the price / quality ratio is good. If there was one thing I was not entirely happy about, it would be some of the other guests who were loud and obnoxious. But I can't hold it against the restaurant :-)

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I was very disappointed with this restaurant, yesterday, 15 may 2021. My friend and I ordered Calprese salad on bread. We were told we could not have it on bread only meat and chicken could be on bread?
The size of the salad was very very small when it was served.
I think the staff could have been more helpful about this.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We had a really nice dining experience here. The restaurant is tucked in a quiet alley tables indoors or al fresco. Our Dutch language skills are minimal and the staff was fantastic, stepping up to ensure our questions were answered, explaining the courses and combinations of foods. The meals were fabulous in both appearance and flavor. There is an extensive wine list if you prefer wine. We really recommend Achter De Poorte!
