Vanaf de jaren 80 is Scarlatti uitgegroeid tot een begrip in Leiden en omstreken. De toenmalige eigenaar was groot fan van Giuseppe Domenico Scarlatti, een Italiaanse componist uit de 18e eeuw. Zijn voorliefde voor Scarlatti's muziek toonde hij door zijn theehuis te vernoemen naar zijn lievelingscomponist. Later is Scarlatti uitgegroeid van een theehuis naar een restaurant met een Franse, Nederlandse en internationale keuken. We hebben de naam behouden vanwege de speciale plek die het in de harten heeft van de vele vaste gasten die er al jaren komen.Onze naamsbekendheid hebben we grotendeels te danken aan ons knusse restaurant, ons grote terras waar de hele dag de zon schijnt, de gevarieerde menukaart, onze sfeervolle Heerenkamer en niet te vergeten; onze enthousiaste medewerkers.

We were still available to have a conversation.
Clean bathrooms.
I would go back to enjoy a beer and fries..... that's all we had.
Slow service probably do to full house. Maybe add additional staff during special events.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ During the Dutch F1 Grand Prix weekend we enjoyed Friday evening and Saturday evening on their terrace. Last evening even heated! The people were fantastic. Good service with great sense of humor. Plenty of beer options. Snacks were also great. Terrace partly extended over the water which provides a great view and interaction. Absolutely advisable!
