★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We loved Smelt. The atmosphere is as gezellig as you can get. Candles on the tables, dark wood and a cosy room. The service was kind and informative. And the fondue was off the charts good. We got the Swiss version and the cheese was sharp, rich, and umami. Even if you think fondue isn’t your thing, you should go. It’s a great date nite spot and is terrific for a small group. Highly recommended.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fabulous cosy fondue restaurant in the centre of Amsterdam. The service was excellent - friendly and efficient. We chose the traditional Swiss fondue which was absolutely delicious. My only suggestion is that the crunchy vegetables don’t add much to the meal - but overall a lovely dining experience. Highly recommended
