β β β β β If you use a side entrance you are able to enjoy the gardens on both sides of the museum. There are no accessibility signs, you have to ask directions. Beautiful art, and romantic corridors to enjoy. The game of chess is not accessible.

β β β β β Didn't spend much time here: it was filled with tourists taking selfies in the fountain and all over the place. Only came to see one piece of art: the spider by Louise Bourgeois. It was a little underwhelming because I had expected its size to be huge, and the distracting crowd. It was impossible to find a good position to take a photo.

β β β β β Beautiful garden, almost as good as the art in the museum. Wonderful little fountain feature. The surrounding scenery is a must see.

β β β β β One of the interesting things to see at the Rijksmuseum is a gated garden area (free admission), located in the front of the museum, just to the right of the Iamsterdam Letters. The garden is open daily from 9am to 6pm.
This is a nice outdoor area and a good place to grab a seat and rest your feet after beating the floors of the Rijksmuseum. During my recent mid-October visit, I found the beds to have plenty of attractive plants and flowers to see. There are sculptures and busts embedded into a row of hedges, a small artificial pond and small greenhouse that you can peer into.
There is a playful fountain called 'Hide and Seek' with centre standing room encompassed by water spouts which form a circular fountain. It was enjoyable watching children enter the circle, awaiting the water bursts to begin, forming a temporary wall of water around them. This is a fun activity for children and something enjoyable to see as a curious bystander.
The Rijksmuseum Garden is a surprisingly tranquil place in the bustling museum square. There is no cost to enter so you can enjoy even if you don't intend to spend time inside the main museum building viewing the artworks.

β β β β β Amazing and beautiful garden where artists create beautiful works of art. Come here before your visit to the Rijksmuseum. I will be uploading a video on YouTube about my experience.

β β β β β Beautiful. Got a bit lost when trying to move from the east wing to the right wing. Maybe they could give better directions inside.
