San Francisco Bar & Club - Zeedijk 40

On the night of 27/28th of September I was in Amsterdam to have a fun night out with a few mates. At some point we passed San Franciso. We stood in front and had a little talk. After a few minutes two of my mates walked into the bar while I finished my talk. After half I minute I decided to follow, but noticed the door had fallen shut, so I wiggled the doorknob. A bouncer flung open the door and asked what I wanted. I politely told him that two of my friends had already entered the bar, so I would like to enter as well. Note that wasn't slurring my words and was the most sober of my friends. The bouncer took a glance at me and told me "no, you're too drunk" and told me to go away. Before I was able to finish a full sentence the bouncer told me he would go and get my friends. Since the bar was pretty full and I hadn't described my friends I asked him whether he knew what my friends look like. He then proceeded to yell at me that I called him stupid just because he was black! I had litteraly only asked if I could enter the building, and if he knew what my friends look like. I tried asking him where he got this from but he just shut the door in my face. A few minutes later he came back and told me my mates would finish the beer and come outside. After that he continued telling me I shouldn't be calling him stupid. So If your idea of a good night out is being called a rascist for no reason, and being yelled at then this is the place to be I guess.

Walked by 2 times on Saturday night... Only 6 people where inside. When we passed at 3, Same story but we decided that we wanted to do one last drink here. But then the security guy was really arrogant in his way to welcome us. He wanted to see our IDcards (both 25) but still he was kinda rude. So we didn't felt welcome and left without taking one step inside!

Incredibly rude and unhelpful staff. Had something stolen from there recently and not one staff member was remotely helpful. When the place closed I was talking quietly with my fiancee outside about our best strategy to find her stolen coat and was being harassed and threatened by the huge doorman who was really trying to find an excuse for violence. Some other guy waded in who was claiming to be the bar manager also looking for violence. After I explained repeatedly that I was talking to my partner and that the conversation didn't include them, the little rat guy and the doorman left us alone. Horrible place.

It's chill but also a party... Not bigand busy but enjoyable cause theirs every type of social people going their... The security is the sweetest and funniest gentleman their is but still doing its job!! The bar while enjoying its work will provide super service as fast as posible... I will go more times!!!

If you still have the dance spirit and you want to go out after 5 then this is the place you need to be. Always an afterparty there. Friendly and helpfull employees and the best bouncer. Go and see for yourself.

I highly recommend this bar for a late night great time after the other bars in the tourist district are closed before heading out to get your club on. The staff is great and the clientele are fun-loving people. John is by far one of the coolest bouncers my wife and I have ever met.

This place is definitely a must go too late nite visit due to the other bars that close at 1am. No issues getting when I arrived. Door staff very friendly, and bar staff. Great atmosphere and good music. Enjoyed the heck out of this place. Thumbs up ???
